I thought there were already rumors (at The Digital Bits?) that work had started on the Marx Brothers films.

I'm talking about compression, that's something that's done during production of the film. The compressionist can choose the areas of focus so the computer knows where to spend it's bits getting the best quality

There's been official mentioning in articles in regards to Mutiny on the Bounty (1935), King Kong (1933), and some of the Astaire/Rogers films, too.

Unfortunate that the error occurred, but this is good news for a fairly quick resolution. Thanks to you Jeff if any of the data you collected helped with the debugging.

I don't know if there's an exchange coming or not, this just hit this afternoon and my call hasn't been returned yet. Thanks to everyone who helped get this resolved in a fast and constructive way, see how much easier it is when they're not in the bunker dodging flame artillery?

We lost a great artist today, I was kinda hoping they'd have him do the new Conan poster

loved Frazetta-- pretty much anything he did from his iconic sci-fi horror
art that graced the covers of horror mags like Famous Monsters Of Filmland
to his awesome movie poster of Eastwood's THE GAUNTLET!

Jeff,

Finally finished ME2 and loved every minute of it. Planet harvesting was unnecessary and boring and took way too damn long. Other than that it was a blast.

Im damn excited for ME3.

Will this series actually come to the PS3 as many people seem to think or is it just wishlist talk?

Many 360 fanboys still seem to believe that MGS4 is still coming to 360.

I think that there is no such thing as a true exclusive anymore unless it's made by Nintendo, MS or Sony themselves

MS owned the IP for Mass Effect because they financed the first game. Do you really think they sold it to EA, lock stock and barrel without an exclusivity window attached?

Hi Jeff. the quantum of Solace re-release is rumored to include the alternate ending the director talked about last year. You think it will? I've only read the synopsis but I much prefer it because it closes a plot thread left dangling at the end of the theatrical version.

Im surprised that they would have sold it to EA to begin with. In terms of critical acclaim ME was the best thing on the 360. Im not sure how well it did in terms of actual sales, which is ultimately what matters.

Nevertheless, it doesn't really matter to me Ill get the 360 version of ME3 since I have two games worth of characters to import into ME3.

I read a lot of articles before ME came out which talked about BioWare owning the IP. In fact, the assertion was that it was an IP-ownership-driven project.

Hi Jeff,

Regarding Saving Private Ryan audio being off. My setup:

* CANADA
* PS3 60GB - Firmware up-to-date
* Onkyo 705 - No way to update firmware - but not up-to-date
* Decoding internally (lossless PCM out)
* HDMI
* Best sequence to notice is the last sequence with Old Private Ryan talking to his wife. All dialogue is off.
