I had one of those as well but never owned Intellivision. You had to have a ColecoVision for the primo version of Donkey Kong. While they did make it for Atari it just didn't measure up.

Umm...wasn't it still just the plain ol' Atari (or Atari VCS) in '81? I remember owning mine before the 5200 was released and there was no "2600" designation until Atari needed to sell something with double the number in its name.

I think Sonny meant to say his Atari was bought in 1981, not that he had those games already. I believe it was summer of '82 before I bought one. The technology was about 5 years old already and EVERYONE was still buying them. Incredible.

Asteroids and Space Invaders where the big games before the newer classics showed their face. I think Atari units sold mostly for Space Invaders.

The best arcade reproduction on the Atari 2600 was Berzerk. I LOVED that game. No voice, but the cheesy graphics were on the money.
