You can add Hulk (2003) to the list. Its erroneously listed as 2.35:1 Widescreen on the back cover and on amazon. It is really 1.85:1 (fills up my LCD screen fully).
Further confirmation is here: http://www.amazon.com/Aspect-ratio/f...sin=B001DRF84W Last edited by ArrestedDevelopment; 06-06-2010 at 09:40 PM. |

Oh man. A whole lot has happening in my life and I totally forgot about this list/thread. Also, I hadn't been getting email notifications of any replys or new posts. So I want to apologize to you who've posted and contributed but have not seen a response or update from me.
I want to specifically apologize to QuasidodoJr for trying to keep this list updated and I haven't responded or updated. You are the biggest contributer and I feel bad that it hasn't been implemented...until today. Quote:
I am very glad that you approve and support! I'm also really glad that you are referencing it! thank you for the words of support! Quote:
And to QuasidodoJr. I'm going to put up your newest contributions as well as your confirmed ones! thank you again very much! Again, I apologize to you all and I am very sorry I wasn't informed and forgot about the list. I will try my very hardest in the future to keep up with this thread/list and honor your contributions. Thank you again. |

Gratitude and apology Pigskincoach...I wasn't aware you had made a contribution a while back. Also, I'm glad you are finding this list helpful. Thanks to both of you for making contributions even though this thread has died down. It makes it all the more significant. Thank you again. |

The thing is that this list was started when bluray was still just reeling from it's victory over HD-DVD and still relatively starting up. Back then, when this list was started, there were many inconsistancies and mistaken information out there in terms of the aspect ratio listed and/or displayed. Now that it is furthur into the main stream, I wonder if there are many mistakes now in that respect. However, I maintain this list as one that still confirms with physical eyes and not entirely depending on data given by the studios or wherever they would get them. Thank you for your suggestion on how to find blurays with the search parameter. I have known a few before, but most/all of them have been shut down/not maintained anymore. It will be a good referral to anyone interested. |

I would never make any adjustments just to fill up my screen. I like the ORIGINAL ASPECT RATIO. If a movie is 1:78, that's good. If a movie is 2:25 (or any variation of it), then that is good too. When I had a standard 4:3 TV, I almost never looked for a movie that was labled, "FULL SCREEN", because this meant that it was cropped to fill a 4:3 screen. The black bars on top and bottom of my screen doesn't matter to me as I have a 55" screen. What would bother me is adjusting the TV to fit a 2:35 movie and seeing everything tall and skinny. I like BLU RAY because it depicts as close as possible the original theatrical experience. Oh, and my TV is black all around, so the bars are virtually unnoticable. |
