Don't component cables still do 720p and 1080i? even 1080p?

It may not be as impressive as HDMI, but it will definitely be an upgrade from regular DVD quality and an S-Video cable.

Actually, many people tend to think analog 1080i component looks as good if not better than HDMI.

...it can look excellent, a lot of the 'older' component only HD-RPTVs, the big CRT behemoths can but up a stunning picture with blu over component at 'only' 1080i.
A lot of that has to do with the CRT's pretty much 2nd to none black reproduction.
