Default Spider-Man 3 sells over 130,000 copies on BD!!

Heres the link!

KEEP IN MIND what WickyWoo says below!

It sold more than Transformers did. The 130k are certified numbers. I've heard from various sources as low as 90,000 copies for Transformers, and I think they finally settled for 110k that ware reported in HMR

Sony said that does not include units bundled with the new $399 PlayStation 3.
Nice. Though I'll like to know how many units of Spider-Man Trilogy they sold.

That sucks considering the amount of blu ray players in the market including ps3's. But besides that, not to far behind transformers.

Pretty good number out of the gate. I think that with the customer base for blu we will see additional sales. I can tell you that my local best best sold out of the 3 pack by the first weekend.

I'll wait for the Nielsen numbers to come out on Friday to get the official news on this one. Thanks for the update, though.

I believe they only shipped 190,000 copies, but actually sold around 90,000.

I seriously doubt that counts the trilogy, although they didn't say anything about it. I honestly assume them to sell more, if not near the same amount.

If this number is true then it sounds like Spiderman trounced Transformers, if this doesn't include the trilogy bundle which is bound to be at least tens of thousands of copies.

I expect HD DVD FUD'ers to tout this as a portent of Blu-doom as it's not trouncing Transformers by a huge number for a single title.

I'm really interested in the numbers friday. I'd like to see how it broke out between the trilogy and the single movie.

I still expect ratatouille to sell more.

how many copies did paramount claim to have sold, or how many copies did they actually sell?

there's a huge (and very laughable) difference between the two.

Great news! Considering the lack of HD-DVD titles for that week I bet the Nielsen numbers will be devestating.

Let's hope those numbers are accurate but if they are. lol What a laugh that will be to the Paramount HD DUD crowd.

What would be hilarious if Ratatatouille also beat Transformers

These numbers are accurate. The reason why they're so late is that they don't want the HDers being able to challenge them after the TF beatdown

I believe Homemedia had just over 65k units registered sold among its reporting retailers. This number was then crunched in comparisson to marketshares and ended up in an estimated 115k units sold by all retailers (Wallmart included in the estimated number by marketshare).

You should find the numbers somewhere on the forum if you dig a bit.

Man, why the hell didn't Sony include a statement about the trilogy in this press release?? If the 200,000 number is correct, that would have been HUGE, incontrovertible positive news. The 130K number just looks wimpy after Paramount's TF lies.
