You can use the total and subtract out the blu. See my post above.

you added wrong...bra size multiplied by .5 of her waist size...

Excellent week for Blu-Ray...I was just one out on the AVS predictions thingy...not that it matters now.

I'm going to go for an 80:20 kick in the bollocks for HD-DVD for next week...lots of residue Spidey sales and massive numbers for Ratatouille & Cars.

What I don't get is, if Wal-mart doesn't count towards the sale of HD DVD and Blu-ray, why are they shopping there if the numbers are so important to them? I'll tell you why: for the same reason they're supporting a lesser format, they're just not that bright...

Not to put the brakes on anything, but did Paidgeek confirm that the SM3 numbers announced by Sony were separate from the Trilogy numbers? It's worth making sure that's clear before people latch onto the 200K+ number too hard.

To be fair, I don't think very many people in the real world base their choice of retailer on how it will effect the Nielsen ratings. Not even HD DVD fans

I think next week with Ratatouille + Cars + Spiderman residuals + Pixar Shorts cancelling out Tranformers Blu-Ray will be at 85:15.

I'm also hoping that by the end of the year the YTD numbers will reach 67:33 in Blu-Ray's favor.

I think people really want a definitive answer to this one. If Paidgeek said it was separate then I likely believe it. I wish someone would say something more official somewhere.

Quote "lol what a joke that guy is. Yeah, wal-mart "backing" HD DVD by selling off their old stock and stocking more BD in their stores. Please."

Understand that he has to do this. He is either paid too or just feels he needs to but the spin on this was prepaired already for days. He feels the need to spin any concept for HD DUD. My guess is he's paid to do so and in fact doesn't even own a HD capable player.

And,.. who ever pays him for it is getting ripped off as well cause it's not like you can see right though this stuff.

My local Walmart has no stand alone players just the PS3 and the Xbox add on but in terms of software they have about 10 Blu Ray titles and 2 HD DUDs. Yeah,.. they've entered the war in support of HD DUD alright. More like they got tired of stocking the most out dated HD DUD hardware and tried to cause a stir by selling it at half of thier cost just to make room for stuff they might sell for a profit.

Fantastic numbers!!

From a mathematical standpoint I don't understand the percentages. The weekly report should change the most (which it does), but then next should be the yearly, followed by "since inception." But it's the "SI" numbers that have moved in recent weeks, not the YTD numbers. Of course, I was never that good in math.

I'm not sure myself. Bill Hunt says at least 50K Trilogy sold, but today's numbers would put it at 93K if the 130K was for Spidey-3 alone.

Agreed. Transformers would have kicked major ass on Blu.

Who said that? Was it a columnist or a troll here on Blu-ray.com?

Yeah,

I agree with the possible 85:15 figure.

Sadly,.. if I could fast forward to next week right now just so I could watch it happen I would. That's sad I tell ya. I so want HD DUD to bugger off already instead of staying in the game just to try to make sure neither side has a chance.

I think as definitive an answer as can be found is in the original article, which repeatedly refers to a product entitled Spiderman 3 and neither Spider-Man - The High Definition Trilogy nor Spider-Man - The Motion Picture DVD Trilogy. One the face of it there is no basis for the assumption the number applies to anything but the single-disc single-title release.
