Lets get this thread back on track. All of the stickies seem to be getting waaay off course lately.
Sorry, I've been busy lately with the individual threads. I might have to clone myself 48/7. But Brundle's machine still has a bug and he hasn't sent me the new firmware.

Agree with you 100%

Which makes me mad that Sony and the BDA didn't take care of Paramount. If Paramount would have gone Blu exclusive this damn war would have been over already. Lets hope Sony and BDA learned you can't play "fair" when M$ is involved.

+ with Tansformers being on both formats HD-DVDers know they couldn't beat the BD side so there wouldn't be as much of a push on the side of HD-DVD to buy it as there was...

I usually don't keep up with these numbers, but when they release them in situations like this, do they usually show box sets vs. individual titles or just lump them in one? Would love to see the 200k number for both combined.

So we get 130,000 * .7195 = 93,535. So Spider-Man 3 sold 223,000 total copies (not counting PS3 bundles).

That's DOUBLE what Transformers likely sold.
Yep, seems pretty good to me.

It'll be interesting to see the Oceans 13 & Oceans Trilogy numbers in 2 weeks. Blu vs HD DUD head to head.

Looking at myself, my brother, and 2 other friends, we are in this category.

4 Spiderman residuals (didn't get them the release week)
3 Ratatouille
1 Cars
2 Pixar Shorts

I always poll my brother and friends for a feel for how the war is going. They are not Blu on the level that we are, so I think that if they go out and drop a load of cash on Blu movies, that's more of the "average consumer" indicator for me.

I think this week will create even more of an advantage for Blu, with a surprising residual for Spiderman (I was surprised how none of my group got Spidey on blu during release week), Ratatouille being a breakaway hit, and the other Pixar films rolling out.

Other weeks, we have won, with no one in my 4-person group having bought a thing. This week, we have 10 Blu movies between the 4 of us, which should be an indicator of a large shift in favor of Blu-ray. This is just my observation.

If this were DUD, they would be multiplying the Trilogy by 3 or something.

Of course, we are Blu, we don't do funky math like that.

enjoy

Yes, but they're quick to point out that it doesn't count, so which way is it?

From a mathematical standpoint I don't understand the percentages. The weekly report should change the most (which it does), but then next should be the yearly, followed by "since inception." But it's the "SI" numbers that have moved in recent weeks, not the YTD numbers. Of course, I was never that good in math.
It's called rounding. The SI had dipped a bit but they don't give us enough decimal places to see the exact number. If it had dropped to 60.48% it would round down to 60% on their chart and therefore be very easy to tip it back upward. The YTD number just isn't so close to the rounding point. Aslo I'm sure that the YTD totals make up at least 80% of the SI so they will pretty much move in tandem. The YTD should move faster but not by much.

Holy Jerusalem! Stop with the sales already. I'm gonna have to get a second mortgage on my second mortgage.

On that note, I've got about 10 discs in my basket now.

It's funny because I ordered Rat & Cars yesterday and the sent me an email later saying it was shipped. I've ordered almost all of my Blu's from Amazon and this is the first time I've had a problem.

Anyways, I emailed them to ask them what was up so hopefully I'll get a response soon.

I'm gonna slap you in the head with an Australian mullet.

I saw all the tabs. Black Book and the Lives of Others is a recommended buy for those who don't have it already.
