IMO, I think Kung Fu Panda was the first DW feature that approached Pixar quality. I hope the sequel is equally as good.

I agree. KFP is the best non-Pixar animated movie IMO.

I agree with the rest of you guys, Kung Fu Panda was and is the only Dreamworks animated movie to be up there with Pixars' movies. I love Kung Fu Panda, it is an awesome movie and the blu-ray has astounding PQ and AQ.

No, unfortunately I still haven't gotten to see it yet. I've been trying to talk the wife into going for a long time now.

Yes, they said Oldman was a chameleon. If it wasn't for BB instead?

Anyways, I think I was just joking around.

Why are they getting such high list actors to play all these voices? I didn't know that jackie chan, seth rogan or lucy lu were in in the first one because they spoke maybe like 2 sentences total, Monkey only had 2 lines!

Searching for other pandas? This is an origin story in disguise, I loved the first one, but this is really making me nervous

Liking the cast so far. I hope this lives up to the first.

Any words as to wether Jackie Chan will return? I liked Monkey even though they cut almost all his lines.

I would imagine one hires well-known actors to do animated characters' voices as an attempt to draw in a larger audience than if you used unknown actors.

Hey,

Quote:
Kung Fu Panda: The Kaboom of Doom, the Licensing International Expo material has included short synopses. The Kaboom of Doom is a sequel to 2008’s tale of the destiny of panda Po (voiced by Jack Black) as a martial arts hero.
Here’s the synopsis for Kung Fu Panda: The Kaboom of Doom

Quote:
“Po and the Furious Five venture in China to battle a villain and uncover the secrets of Po’s mysterious origins.”

I was completely unaware that Po was a product of “mysterious origins”: I assume he will attempt to track down his birth (i.e. non-goose) parents? Jack Black, Angelina Jolie, Seth Rogen, Lucy Liu, David Cross, and Dustin Hoffman are all set to reprise their roles from the first movie, and will be joined by Gary Oldman, Jean Claude Van Damme, Michelle Yeoh, and Victor Garber. Kung Fu Panda: The Kaboom of Doom hits theaters in 3D on May 27, 2011.

Source.

I really hope they rectify the problem with Po's parents (as it really took away from the film why the hell a goose had a Panda for a son)

Trailer came out, looks very good actually (for an animated Sequel anyway)

Doesn't look quite as fresh as the original, and Jack Black sounds bored (which doesn't bode well for the script) but that

I thought it was hilarious that we got no explanation of why his dad was a goose.

Trailer looked great. Looks to be as much fun, if not more, than the first. I can't wait to see it.
