That doesn't discredit the entire company's products, and your issue with your receiver doesn't mean Onkyo's products are junk either.

Aside from that your cosign of the other member's post doesn't mean his post was constructive. He didn't offer any reasons whatsoever, and you are basing your opinion on one experience. With the high volume of receivers that Onkyo sells of course there will be issues that pop up from time to time. This still accounts for a very small percentage of buyers as the majority of Onkyo buyers are very happy and have no issues with their receivers.
Good for you if yours has worked flawlessly and I mean it. We all work hard to afford our components...

I'm basing my opinion on one experience? Are you serious? Again, check AVS or Goggle.
Of course every company has problems, no one or nothing is perfect but what bothers me is, this is clearly a known issue and a flaw in their design so they should at least suck it up and issue a recall of some sort but that's not the case. So that right there, discredit Onkyo. It's not so much about what they did wrong but it's more about what they are not doing to fix the obvious problem.
Anyway, the OP came here asking our opinion about the brand and here's mine. He and you can take it or leave it for all I care...
