They take up quite a bit less space. Anyways do the old DVD boxes seem large to you now?
Absolutely. This is one of the excuses I tell myself when I replace SDs with Blus. "Gee, you know, they take up less shelf space so you can buy more of 'em." The Smallville and Tip/Tuck TV series Blu's are *really* smaller than their SD equivalents.

Blu's save on plastic, too, with these smaller cases. More environmentally friendly.

I love 'em.

DVD cases have always seemed as having too much volume. That's why I've converted almost all of my DVD's over to thin-packs. Twice the titles in the same space.

I like how the new HD media cases (Blu-ray and HD-DVD) are not as tall as standard DVD cases, I just wish they had gone all the way to half thickness instead of the 2/3's they are.

i hear you, but id be a little concerned about the protection the disc gets from the case if they were much smaller.

This could be an environmental commercial about people who buy dvd's to stop and buy Bd's. And you could have a dvd to BD comparison on chemicals, animals dieing, and dirty air from dvd's and then have less chemicals, happy animals, and clean air from buying BD's!

that would be great, but it would probably be countered from enviromentalits by the fact that our blu-ray players and hdtvs suck up a whole lot more energy than a dvd player and sdtv.
