Cool Who Else Hides Their Blu In Their Old DVD Cases?!?!

I do this for all the new 007 Blu-rays I get. The DVD packaging was better, and I already have all of those on DVD!

I also did this for Grease, cause I can't part with that little leather "T Birds" jacket

Anyone else do this?!?!

No, I like the smaller blu-ray cases and I also like the blue color of the cases. I've pretty much hidden my DVD collection but part of that is because I just don't have room to display both. Edit: Kind of wish they'd even go with slim-line type cases for everything (although it's definitely harder to pick out the movies that way and I don't think it looks as nice).

Im glad I read this thread because I have the same TV and can compare setting later.

Having said that, I think its crazy to put the blu-ray in the DVD case. What do you do with the DVD, put it in the blu-ray case?

edit: to the op, your idea is perfect for this thread https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=98478 about unpopular ideas

Same here. I prefer the blu cases and design. I only display my Blu movies. My DVD's are hidden away (except for a few seasons that I display)

I hate the slim-line cases, way too hard to read the side. If I could make a change I'd like to be able to order cases with XX number of disc pages in them so I can compile any franchise with three or more movies. I managed to wrangle up a case by moving things around for the Bourne trilogy but no progress since then.

No, but i've considered using some VHS sleeves as slipcases for my Blu-rays!

Seriously, the smaller sized Blu-ray cases are much prefered over the standard sized DVD case. With my anime DVD collection I had previiously thinpacked most of them to save space. At some point I'll probably thinpack my Blu-rays too once my collection hits critical mass (which according to my wife was the middle of last year.)

Wow!... enough said. Man I get blasted for creating a thread about no disc art on paramount discs, but I would have to say, this should definitely take the cake. Show those blus with pride! Don't cower them away. After all, you spend an arm and a leg for them. If nothing else, you could at least find a site, including this one, where people have made custom cover art for the cases.

I like the Blu cases much more than the DVD cases. My DVD's are tucked away while my Blu ray discs are in plain view on my shelves.

I keep my Blu-rays in their own packaging.

I did the opposite.

I put my 2 disc edition DVD of Spider-man in a 3 disc BD case with my BD copy that came with the trilogy collection (remember: the BD release of Spider-man in the trilogy is barebones for some stupid-ass reason).

And actually, the only reason I even swapped my DVDs into the BD case is because it looked a little ridiculous having two copies of Spider-man there just so that I'd keep the extra features.

I don't see why one should value the silly DVD packaging over the Blu-ray's, especially when the package is an easy way of identifying the format of the disc inside.

Nope. Smaller cases = more shelf space.
