135,000
vs 190,000 and I don't really like the Transformers movie at all but a lot of people must have and what I've read the sold numbers are very reliable (realize the numbers I read and posted are 5,000 better for Spiderman 3 then the ones everyone has been posting previously)
because there have been conflicting numbers by paramount...

sony only has released 1 figure and nobody has disputed it...

The facts are best and are always better then when strong wishes are posted as facts.

With knowledge we become better for it in the long run, inaccurate information is always found out and exposed and then it makes who produced it look stupid and no one will pay attention to them anymore.
the number you listed is...made up...

We should have a Harry Potter buy-a-thon to help get Warner to dump HD DVD. Plus if more people buy Harry Potter the week it comes out, the less of an impact Bourne will have, which comes out the same week.

Never trusted Jane Austen once she turned her back on blu-ray.

Nobody but people here on the forum disputes Paramounts figures(if you can provide a link where Paramount posted different numbers then do so and then I'll know you are correct) and although that makes sense it still doesn't make Paramount incorrect, they should know better then anyone.

If you're not willing to believe Paramount then why would you believe Sony?

I actually believe both so the numbers are 190,000 to 135,000 sold.

I didn't contradict myself, you must be reading someone else's post or misread mine.

If you just misunderstood mine then I apologize for not making it clearer.

No need to keep stirring the pot, it's getting you nowhere.

It's been clearly explained why Paramounts numbers are bull****, if you believe them, so be it.

How wrong you are.

"As we first reported on Friday, Home Media Magazine estimates the actual number of units sold through to consumers for the week as closer to 115,000. Meanwhile, according to an online report from Deadline Hollywood, Videoscan point-of-sale data is said to put the disc at only 89,871 units sold."

All you have to do is so a search on this forum and you will find links to non-Paramount numbers that flatly contradict Paramount's numbers.

Now if a non-Sony source confirms Sony's numbers for Spiderman 3, are you going to call them liars too?

I actually really liked this movie- it was wonderfully well done; Keira Knightley was fabulous in it. A great flick to enjoy with the wife or girlfriend (not at the same time of course ). I will be there to buy this when Uni goes blu.

But yeah, this title is not going to be much of a speedbump to the juggernaut that is Blu.

Not out of the question, Rat and cars coupled with the 12.99, 15.99 sale is heating things up. Blu-ray is a featured deal on slickdeals.net today also.

Read this and tell me if you still think TF sold 190,000. Paramount claims Sony have underestimated sales from Amazon and Blockbuster. Guess what? Amazon and Blockbuster are counted in the Nielson data.lol

It still amazes me that Paramount announced a 25% attach rate on the first day of TF sales, a 50% attach rate the first week. It amazes me even more that someone believes those numbers.

All I said is the I believe the numbers put out by Paramount (they would obviously know better then anyone how many were sold) I also believe the sales number put out for Spiderman 3/ Sony.

You're the one who thinks they are lying, not me.

If you don't like the numbers sold then that is too bad, I don't like them either but I can accept the truth and move on.

And stop attacking the messenger, it's not my fault you're disappointed.

Default numbers

I think most reasonable people believe that the paramount number is somewhat inflated, but the spiderman number i think is split. The 130,000 is single disc sales only right? the number sold in the 3 disc set of the spiderman movies moves it up another 80,000 to 85000. So that would bring that number up to like 210000 at least.

I bet the 190,000 was how many was shipped. And when two anonymous Blu-Ray studios accused Paramount of lying, they said they weren't counting non-traditional retailers like Blockbuster, Amazon, and Netflix. But BB and Amazon are both counted in Nielson, and data from retailers that make up 62 or so percent of Hi-Def sales showed only 89,000 were sold.

No. The 130,000 includes the boxed set. Confirmed by Paidgeek (Sony Insider) on the Insider's Thread:

It is not worth arguing over, Paramount said 190,000 sold and the sold number is 135,000 for Spiderman 3, including the Boxset according to PaidGeek.

I as much as I would love to believe the whole anonymous Blu-Ray studio accusation angle is just too thin, provide a link identifying the two studios, then I would put more weight into it.

We can go to all sorts of other sources opinions and site all sorts of numbers, but as much as we wish it were not true both numbers appear to be factual and actually they do make sense.

But if you want to believe any thing you want, that is your right and if it makes you feel better then I think that is good also.

I'm done debating if the numbers are fact or fiction.
