there have been two photos of Thor, and a blink and you miss it clip of him on ET. were talking about a movie that could be over 2 hours long, what makes you think thats so representative of the whole film?
there were reports earlier in the year that talked about the costumes, everything mentioned lines up with what weve seen. except of course for the helmets. i dunno...

Everyone looks absolutely perfect, right down tot he color scheme. ANd its straight up medieval future tech looking. And yes Loki has black straight hair even know Hiddleston is blonde and curly. THor is balls accurate though complete with cape, chain mail arms, the circles going down the front of the torso, and winged helmet.

I've seen the costumes, and they did absolutely [frick]ing nail it. Very Walt Simonson. And I think my reputation as someone very critical of most comic book films procedes me here so I'm not just some excited fanboy. The only thing that is funny about Loki's costume is that while its gold and has the big horns sticking out, the helmet part of it, meaning the part that actually touches his head, kind of looks like a bicycle helmet, I think more so that it would, practically speaking, stay comfortable on the actor and not move around due to the horns. The warriors three are also the same kind of medieval future tech look, a little less traditional than the comic but still very very awesome and the look of each of the actors themselves is [frick]ing dead on. Ray Stevenson looks especially cool in a chubby suit. Trust me, I think everyone here is going to be very very pleased as Branaugh just more or less adapted the comic. I was surprised at how well the looks work when translated into reality

now this is old, and its not official, but the parts that are in bold are confirmed to be true and this was months before any photos leaked. so take that how you will...

The concept art we saw for the costume didn't have the helmet. It had the hammer, but not the helmet. The shot on ET was an indoor shot in Asgard of Thor talking to Odin. Probably would have had it on there. There have been other shots o the net just nothing worthy of posting. I just don't see the helmet happening, especially if it is described in that article as being a winged helmet because that just does not go with the costume.

None of them look that great. It's the armour. It looks like plastic.

But then again, the Iron Man suit looked like crap in the behind-the-scenes footage but great in the movies. So I'm guessing it's a lighting issue.

I was never a Thor fan but that picture just looks silly. I don't think I will be able to watch this movie without laughing.

Have to say that I'm needing to see a trailer as well. Stills aren't very indicative of what the finished product will look like.

Thanks goodness.

I believe in some interview that was addressed.

They said it looks MUCH more like metal in the footage with the proper lighting and such.

I think they look good right there, so if they look even better in movie, great.

I think the picture is actually pretty cool. I'm sure, as Diesel said, the costumes look much better in the footage. Can't wait to see some footage from this

Also, disappointed with the decision to convert it to 3D...I was hoping Marvel would let these stay 2D and not converted. But we know what makes money now so they had to go for it I guess. Hopefully with a little less than a year to go, the 3D conversion will look MUCH better than Alice or Clash of the Titans!

They best have SuperGlue ready on set, because it looks like Hopkins' neck is about to fall apart.

Sweet? Looks like plastic crap. They don't have any armor on their legs at all, and their heads and hands are bare. Overall looks like the barest nod to even wearing armor at all.

It actually reminds me of the horrible armor in First Knight with Richard Gere.

heres a new photo which looks like a still rather than a publicity photo, showing the armor how it will be lit on screen. definitely looks more metallic and i love the look of the movie already.

I like the look so far. I also have great hope for this one with Kenneth Branagh as director. I think his Shakespeare will be of great help for the look of this movie in Asgard.

i know a few people above have given so-so views on the costumes but i agree with P@t_Mtl the reason they Branagh is for his shakesperarian knowledge and to have that frame on mind then thinking of the Thor Universe.
besides, i am sure when a trailer comes out it will be better visually
