Frode Special Member Member since:Feb 2007	The BD drive in the PS3 is 2x (normal speed is 1.5x) and in addition the Cell processor is much faster at things like Java than the embedded players. As the hardware in the players get better, they'll eventually become faster than the cell for specialized tasks.
