Unhappy Have I seen to many Blu Rays to Fast?

I got myself s350 for christmas and have watched about 20 blu rays.
Yesterday I upgraded my firmware from v10 to v15. Later that day I watched
a blu ray and it didn't look a good. So this morning I put in a few other movies that looked good to me before and l no longer feel that wow factor!

What up? Did the firmware screw up something? Is it all in my head?
I am I doomed until the next best thing?

Have I seen to many Blu Rays to Fast?

I don't think it's that you watched to many Blu's, no such thing. I think that you just got use to it, it's the norm for you. Try watching a DVD now, on a normal DVD player.

I still get the "wow that looks really good" feeling when watching blu-rays sometimes. Most of the time, I am just watching the movie and the extra clarity and better colors are just absorbed as a "new normal". So basically, DVDs have lost a lot of luster for me. At the same time I am over how good blu-rays look. I am still impressed when I notice the visuals, it is just not what I am looking for when I watch a movie. The improved resolution and color of blu-ray help to immerse me into a movie better than dvd, since the picture looks closer to how it would have appeared in a theater. Alot of DVDs have different artifacts due to bandwidth limitations and compression problems, etc and scream "you are watching a video" at me, whereas the problems that may crop up on bluray are less noticeable to me and so I am able to watch and experience the film without being as aware that I am watching one. So when I say I am over blu-ray PQ, I just mean when I watch a decent quality one, I can appreciate how great it looks while also telling myself, well that is how it SHOULD look.

I think home video will continue to improve until it is 3d and high enough resolution to match what the human eye is capable of seeing so as to be indistinguishable from real life. I don't know how long it will take to get there. That will be the apex of video quality (real life quality). Anyway, I am pretty impressed with the quality of blu-ray but I will be excited for the next thing too. I always am.

Had you used your player to calibrate your picture. Upgrading firmware often causes your settings to revert to default.
