Not necessarily. They are asking you to send to different address depending whether you have a yellow or white barcode area.

Wrong--yellow UPC is supposed to mean you already have the corrected version (though Bill Hunt's latest post claims some corrected copies arrived at BB with a white UPC but missing the words "2-Disc Set", as he was originally told). USPS also says P.O. Box 801468 in Valencia, CA "may be Non-Deliverable"--slightly less of a "no" than P.O. Box 401464 (not found at all), but still the only valid P.O. box given so far is 801464.

As with 401464, I believe 801468 is a misreading of the script by a low-paid, outsourced (though it may not be to India) CSR. Just send it to 801464.

The fact is (whether you want to admit it or not) there are different addresses and the Paramount associates are instructed to give us a mailing address based on the bar code information we're giving them.

The REAL fact is (and you WILL NOT admit it), the "different addresses" being given are bogus--single-digit differences in the P.O. box that I have confirmed, and anyone else can verify, via the USPS zip-code website are in fact invalid P.O. box numbers for Valencia, CA. The *ONLY* valid P.O. box to mail to is 801464; anything else is a CSR misreading his/her script.

The requests for UPC colors and NA codes (i.e., manufacturing numbers) on the discs are solely to screen out those who may already own the corrected version of Gladiator. If the UPC is yellow, you already own the corrected version; no replacement for you. If it's white, they then ask for the NA code to see if your disc is the original version or the corrected one, since some corrected ones have white UPCs. If it's the NA code from the original, only THEN do they give you the P.O. box to exchange it.

The *ONLY* reason I suggest folks still call the 888 number is that they *MAY* be tracking the calls via ANI, then comparing the phone number on the slip you mail in to the ANI list to confirm you've done it properly. I doubt they're doing that (what if you called from work or cell but listed your home number?), but it's possible. Nonetheless, I suspect anyone who just mails the old Disc 1 with name, address & phone number to P.O. Box 801464 will get a replacement, whether he/she called the 888 number or not.

Just called and was given the exact same address as everyone else. As others have said, there really was no reason to call. They didn't take any of my personal info. I just wanted to be safe.

So all we need to include is Disc 1 and our address, correct?

Thanks. Just double checking.

Just got mine packaged for shipment. I gave my name and all that stuff, but I also included a PS.

PS: I would like to thank you for making me pay postage to send this disc back to you. What, did the Saving Private Ryan recall break the bank?

How many people think I'll get my disc?

Default Blue Disc 1?

Does anyone know if the disc with the new transfer will be colored blue instead of gray (similar to Iron Man and Saving Private Ryan when the error was fixed)?

I realize the case itself is supposed to be different with the yellow barcode and the removal of the "2-DISC SET" in the bottom right-hand corner on the back cover, but just curious about the disc itself.

Since a few people have apparently found it at Best Buy, it may be easier to do a simple exchange if you find it there.

They didn't pay for shipping because Gladiator was not a defective disc. It was simply an old master that they doctored up, but there was still nothing technically defective about it. However, Saving Private Ryan had an actual technical defect. My guess is that Paramount looked at it in a similar fashion.

Good thing I finally came along and checked here... I've emailed them from two different addresses and left a message and never heard a peep back. They handled this poorly.
