Yes, the voulmes are 2.0, but that has been the same for every single series of new Doctor Who, just the same as the box sets have always been 5.1. What makes you think this series will be any different, especially if it's the first to be filmed in HD, bar the specials? I've looked at various websites and they allo say 5.1. I think you're being too causious.
So if i'm following what you are saying correctly, then:

All previous "volume" sets on DVD were 2.0 audio... and,
All previous "boxsets" collection on DVD were 5.1 audio ???

I have to own up here, i have never bought any Doctor Who volumes OR boxsets before as i hated it with David Tennant and his various assistants (especially that horrible Catherine Tate effort)

However the new Matt Smith Doctor & Amy Pond combination totally hooked me in I found it far more watchable
