I could only tell if one had 2 disc set printed on the actual case as one was in a anti theft container and the other wasn't. Both had the $10 off coupon on them. The one outisde the anti theft case had a slip cover.

Can anyone who purchased the new version confirm if the disc label is colored blue instead of gray (similar to Iron Man and Saving Private Ryan when the error was fixed)?
When these titles had errors, they switched the color of the disc label from gray to blue to ensure they could be differentiated between the previous version. Just curious if they did the same with Gladiator. |

Hmmm....I wonder if the number on the inside of the disc is different? They have obviously made some changes to the packaging to differentiate the two (removal of "2-DISC SET"), but I wonder if they did anything to the disc itself to confirm this disc is the new version?

So can you guys confirm what the right address is? Thanks singhcr. So all we do is send disc 1, and contact info, and that is all they requested when you spoke to them on the phone? Thanks! |

I took a chance on a copy at Best Buy and it was the remastered version. The back of the slipcover did NOT have "2-Disc Set", and the back of the actual case ALSO did NOT have "2-Disc Set." The slipcover DID have the $10 off coupon, which certainly seems odd, but meh who knows. It makes me wonder how long these may have been sitting on shelves with no one knowing about them...
Actually, come to think of it, a full week ago I was at Best Buy checking for yellow UPCed Gladiator copies, and I saw that they had copies without "2-Disc Set" on it. This was after Bill Hunt had said yellow UPCes would be the method to tell them by, and before people reported luck with the copies without "2-Disc Set," so I didn't purchase one. |

I think there were very few copies of the faulty disc that made it to retailers as they found the mistake before the street date. If you have a blue-colored Disc 1, you're fine. |

Yes, I can also confirm that the disc is still gray. Too bad they didn't make it blue, that seems like a super easy way to help people be sure they have the right one.

neo,
I agree as well. Still, thanks to Bill Hunt's post yesterday, I never would've checked but instead would've waited for the yellow UPC indication. Either way, when fans do get a look at this remastered version, they're in for a serious treat. It's practically night and day between the two versions. |

I was in BB today at lunch and took a look at Gladiator- same thing that others are reporting- no "2disc set" yet $10 off coupons, and the others had the "2 disc set" yet didn't have a coupon.
I'm assuming the coupon ones are the new ones based upon other's posts, but I didn't buy- I'm waiting for mine from Paramount. |

I agree. But I guess Paramount thinks there's nothing wrong with the original Gladiator (unlike SPR), so no special differentiation.

Well even if they don't personally believe it's better (I think they do, and are just saving face with the wording of the press release), they still did a new disc for consumption by a section of the market. So presumably they'd want that section of the market to be able to identify the disc.
