I had no idea Gladiator was this popular.

Threads get large not because of a movie is good, but because there are problems with the release. Most of the pages here are complaints and replies dealing with them.

There is a replacement program for US and UK customers.

The short version:

Universal has the elements and produced the Blu-ray Disc for them and Paramount. Universal also produced the remastered version and has provided this to Paramount.

UK customers can use the following address for replacement:

WC1A 1HB

Please enclose a note with your name and address.

The remastered version, as far as I know, has not yet surfaced in the UK so expect at least a 30 day wait for the replacement.

Picked up the Gladiator remaster today at Best Buy. It looks spectacular. Very well done.

I'm not the one on here complaining all of the time about people who don't use the search function. That's your MO and that is fine. The in-store sticker price is $29.99 and the online price is $26.99. That's very steep for a catalog title. I'm definitely going to wait until it goes on sale for $19.99 before I get it.

I've seen the remastered copies at Target as well, so it's definitely trickling out to more places.

Pressumably it's missing a "2-Disc" writing at the lower right side of the back of the case.

Yes you can see the whole battle much better now. IMO its one of the better looking Blus in my collection now.

A Best Buy I visited today had four copies, all of the new release. Some still had the $10 sticker on it. All were the normal UPC, no yellow sticker.

How is a new 4k remaster a sad mess? If you bought the original, mail it in for the replacement. If you didn't, go and pick up the version without the "2-disc set" text. The product could've been labeled more clearly, but hey, they actually listened for once and fixed a poor quality release...

i mailed mine in over a week ago, im guessing ill see my copy last week of Sept. first week of Oct. i could only imagine how many replacements they are getting everyday.

I really don't think they're getting very many replacements at all besides the users from this site. This wasn't a very publicized exchange. No way casual people know about it.

42041 man im sorry i didnt mean it like that.u see i went to best buy last week and was able to exchange my non remasterd copy for one that had no white sticker and no 2 disc set on it and no rebate coupon.My only problem is that i watched a little bit of and it looked good i just dont have the old copy anymore to compare it to because i never actually watched my first copy.

yeah i guess your right, but there are a lot of users on this site, and im sure they have a lot of friends or family that own this blu and they told them about the exchange, i bet word of mouth has gotten out.. why else would it take so long for them to return it back
