How do i start off with this film? Well first off the Cinematography was amazing, its crazy how a little direction can bring out the beauties of a film. So Bravo to the french dude
[Show spoiler]Jean-Luc Godard lol
.

I really enjoyed this film. It wasn't anything i expected but i still liked it. A woman that is so into her self that she's blinded by so many other things, especially love. It was said how she became a prostitute in the pursuit to become a movie star. It was extremely sad how
[Show spoiler]the man she thought cared about her turned her into a tramp and ultimately leading her to her own bloody murder
. Very touching film, and it got serious once she met the philosopher. He had me thinking about life in a different way for a moment. Once she finally figured out herself and what see really wanted in life it
[Show spoiler]ended that quickly. Pretty damn sad

On another note i think that this film is great in all but its a chick flix. Im not saying anything bad about chick flix's because enjoy a few like The Notebook. Overall the movie was worth watching and im looking forward to watching it again because i know there's things i missed. Recommended

4/5
Great film but it's most definitely not a chick flick and she wasn't blinded by love for the pimp at all. In fact, love really wasn't a part of her vocabulary.

You think so? wasn't she was attracted to him because of what he thought of her and how he carried himself? Well thats what i got from the film. Then after talking to the philosopher she understood what true love was and the importance of being happy for the right reasons.

The reason why i say this is a chick flick (which i strongly believe that it is) is because 9/10 this would effect the life of a WOMAN that is lost. Men dont go out this way, we get lost in a whole different aspect.

You are right about love not being apart of her vocab until she realized what it was after speaking to the "man" lol.

Taxi Driver 4.5/5

I'm not sure why, but I had somehow never seen this. It's the first movie I have seen for a few days that interested me from the start. I wanted to see what was going to happen next. DeNiro's character was interesting and the narration worked for me. A well-told story with good acting. I liked the pacing and some of the camera work too. Excellent all round.

Shutter Island was the closest to it, but that was pure mediocrity as opposed to "bad."

Unfaithful - Now this was one of the better cheating/fatal attraction type films out there. Diane Lane is always great and boy was she sexy in this one! All of the main actors gave great performances and I liked the climax as it was different then I expected and not the typical endings that some of these type of films have. I dont agree with how everything went down but for a movie and entertainment it was very good.

Film Rating - 4 stars (out of 5)

Got Em!!

Waltz With Bashir (4.5/5)
This animated documentary about Ari Folman's attempts to remember his war-time experiences during the invasion of Lebanon in 1982 is remarkable. The animation does a wonderful job of weaving together the flashbacks with the modern footage.

Accident(HK) (4/5)
Louis Koo stars as Brain, the mastermind behind a group of assassins who stage elaborate "accidents" for their targets. It's a very good thriller. I did have one issue with it however...
[Show spoiler]He get's robbed and this is never explained as part of the plot. We are supposed to conclude that it is merely a coincidence.

The Expendables
Got about what I expected with this one, thankfully my expectations, though very high going in, were more than met. The movie delivers from the opening kill precisely what you want in a movie like this. While the majority of the responsibility for actually acting here lies on Stallone, Rourke and Lundgren, the cameos (though brief) are just what you want in a cameo, if not more. I'd go so far as to say, as a whole, this film is more entertaining and action packed than Stallone's newest Rambo movie. Staitham holds his own next to Stallone no problem, there's enough Jet Li to satisfy his fans, and though Randy Couture is far from a decent actor (I suspect he was filling in for Van Damme here) I loved his fight with Steve Austin. Eric Roberts was great as your typical hammy scenery-chewing 80s villain. Overall this is precisely what you want in an 80s action homage.
4.5/5 Stars

Scott Pilgrim VS The World
Going in, I thought I'd have a fun time with this. In truth, less than I'm a fan of Cera (say what you will about him, he's still funnier than Jonah Hill, and if he doesn't stray far from his AD persona George Michael, is awfully funny) Mary Elizabeth Winstead is the real reason I saw this. I'll watch anything she's in at least once , but this film felt a bit inconsistent to me at times. Though I had a blast with Chris Evan's scenes, both Keiran Culkin and Ellen Wong (Knives, Scott's ex-girlfriend) bring a lot to this film, Brandon Routh seemed a bit off, there was just no need for Matthew Patel to have a musical number (probably the most tedious moment of the film), though funny and the 8-bit Nintendo CGI makes scenes that would otherwise seem a waste of time entertaining, and what little we get of Edgar Wright's easily overlooked jokes hidden the composition of the shots (we saw more of this in Hot Fuzz), the movie, for all the story its expected to tell, just feels way too long. For a comedy, I wasn't expecting something just shy of two hours, but you really feel the length by the end. Perhaps I wouldn't mind it if they gave Ramona (Mary Elizabeth Winstead's character) any real character development, but I suppose Edgar Wright thought by casting someone as beautiful in the part thought he could skirt that responsibility. She's probably the least developed of all the characters. All the characters, from Scott and Ramona's ex's to the Scott's band members and even the party-goers get more personality than Ramona, who we only knew was impulsive when she was younger, but that's about it. Though I'm willing to admit that Mary Elizabeth Winstead is really beautiful, there's nothing about her beyond the superficial here to make her appealing, and therein lies the problem with this film. Most of the time, between Cera and Winstead, between the snowy setting and Winstead's dyed hair it feels like rather than handing us character exposition we're just seeing Wright recreate scenes from Eternal Sunshine with younger actors. Then there's the casting of Jason Schwartzman, funny for sure, but the least intimidating and least interesting of all the ex's. Overall Kieran Culkin, Ellen Wong, Chris Evans and Aubrey Plaza (of Parks & Recreation) are the real standouts here. The lack of character exposition makes the film's length a problem and while a fun time, I feel like there's no need to for the fights to go on as long as they do or there be so many. Evidently, from what I've read about the comics, Ramona's character was far more developed in the comics than what we saw in the film. Perhaps a lot of that exposition fell by the wayside when trimming this film down, but even without it, it still feels too long.

The Lovely Bones - I been putting this one off for awhile now, the trailer looked like some kid's fantasy gone wrong.

When i finally watched it on Blu Ray three days ago i have to say it made me speechless. It was tense and dramatic, and i'm not even really into these films. i really enjoyed it, the picture and audio quality on the BR are really to die for. 4/5

A fabulous movie. A unique use of animation to tell a heavy story about Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. I loved it.
