It really doesnt matter how good the authoring company is, at the end of the day what matters is the source. The authoring company has limitations too.

Default Ordered mine nehaflix

I ordered mine nehaflix get it tuesday, ime crossing my fingers that the ss are wrong, the picture looked nice in the theatre, yes it was grainy a little if i remember, i wonder if the director intended it to be like 300 give it that documentary feel, so maybe the source was meant to be like that visual palette of director

I rented this on Saturday night and was pleased with the quality. I was expecting the worst after all the comments on the forum but it was not really that bad.

The picture quality was very crisp and the sound was great. There were definitely sequences where I felt that the images were somewhat bright, but I haven't seen it in the theatre so I cannot compare against the source. In all the nighttime/dark scenes, it seemed very grainy and with heavy contrast levels, but because this was consistently throughout the film for all the dark scenes, I think it is from the source.

I'm not expert reviewer but I would give this Bluray disc the following ratings:
Movie: 4.5/5
PQ: 4/4
AQ: 4.5/5

I don't doubt that Chandna and his team have done the absolute best that they could with this product.

The most recent BD that I have seen prior to this was Badmaash Company and I liked this product better. Maybe I'm biased because I enjoyed Raajneeti the film more and thus had a more enjoyable viewing experience but I was thoroughly satisfied.

Perhaps after more exposure to this forum and more frequent BD releases, I'll be able to give better (and more technical) feedback.

Interesting thoughts. I suppose when you still the frames it looks horrible, but was the movie is playing it doesn't seem as bad. That's how it is sometimes with filters. I really want to buy this... I just need to get an official review before know the complete outcome.

This is what everyone has given his judgement without even watching the Disc.

And this is my reply again:

I am sorry that no one liked the screen shots even me.
Just to let everyone know that we dont have facility to use DVNR or DNR in our studio. And there is no option of EE in our studio. We are a very small studio with limited resources. We cant afford to buy softwares and Hardware for DVNR,DNR and EE

We have not used any filter while encoding. It is as is of original video and liked by publisher, Mr. Parkash Jha and his team.

Please watch the BluRay disc and then let me know your reviews.

I wish if publishers permits me to provide screen shots .

On behalf of everyone we are deeply sorry Mr. Chandna. I hope someone comes out with some screenshots that have a true representation of the BluRay and their review. Unfortunately it seems Bollywood Blu-ray is absolutely inept in the matter of taking screenshots. I had first gotten suspicious with his Fanaa screenshots which look nothing like the bluray I own of the movie. I'm sure we will all start to ignore Bollywood Blu-ray's screenshots in addition to his incorrect tentative release dates and meaningless, empty, excitement-inducing comments.

I agree that you shouldn't judge it based on screenshots... but if a basic frame of the video has all of the above problems, it's still THERE at the end of the day. I can't really apologize for that. I somehow doubt BollywoodBlu-Ray could take screenshots that SOMEHOW mess up the frames so badly as to add fading and additional filters or at leas the look of it.

And one person DID give good feedback on the disc is that counts for anything.

Hi
I am not expecting this from anyone and I don't want any of my friend in forum to feel sorry for this.I always care for the feelings of my friends in the forum. But what I expect is to write the reviews only after watching the movie.
Regards
Chandna

Don't worry, I'm not thinking you or your team did a disastrous job. I believe you when you say you guys gave us what you were given in the first place. I too am waiting for the official review because I'm really interested in this title too. I have to wonder, though, why for once Team DDR didn't jump on this or Swades... Ramadan? Hopefully we get something from Sanjay or maybe even Anibap.

Guys, lets wait for the actual BD review and it will be great if someone can post their thoughts after watching the BD.

I did question Bollywoodbluray's SS capture method but it won't be right to post comments purely on SS posted here.

I always liked Chandna's work and I am hopeful about this too but the SS of this one was too bad compared to other SS of BDs done by Chandna.

Lets's watch this and then discuss. Chandna's request is very fair and justified...

Hoepfully I will have this BD this weekend and I will post my thoughts after watching. Keep an eye on Zulm.net for Sanjay's review. He might get it before any of us here.

we have used the same software that we use to take screenshots of all the other bds .Screenshots dont reflect the true image of the product no ammter who takes them ..

Never go by the screenshots rule no 1 ...watch the Bd before you make your decisions rule no 2 ..

Sorry, but I don't agree with you on this one. Properly taken screnshots taken by computer software provides a good indication of the BD and can be close to what you see. The big difference is seeing in a computer monitor with its own set of limitations compared to seeing it in a well calibrated / not calibrated TV/HDTV/High end monitor.

Rule 1 of yours
Agree but subjected to proper capture method and mode of viewing.
So, for the general population it is fair to say that should not go by SS as most laptop PC monitors are not calibrated while you are surfing the forum and you don't know if it was captured properly. However, if one knows that SS was captured properly and you are using a well calibrated display where you also see BD, you can take your chances in making an opinion on SS. Please note some good monitors have video/film optimised modes where it may look slightly different so you need to capture and view in that mode.

Rule 2 of yours

Absolutely right. See it yourself and then comment.

However, there are two things to keep in mind

1. Many people watch BDs on their laptop/ PC and a good graphic card capture method captures what they are seeing. The SS generated in one machine may look completely different in another monitor as there are many factors which contributes to the quality and presentation. Thats why it is not a recommended method for comparing but people who have calibrated monitor / display and know how to capture SS, their judgement should not be questioned as the screenshot they see while the movie is paused and the file they generate are the same.

2. Many people won't have proper claibrated display and even after watching the BD they can post their thoughts but the observations can be as skewed as watching a screenshot on a non calibrated display.

USA i get mine today

I get my copy from nehaflix today afternoon , rajneeti blu ray, i will add my 2 cents, i watched the movie in the theatre and the source seemed fine, a little grainy maybe that is the visual palette the director chose. I am hoping this is a fine transfer Mr chandna, yes i don't base decisions on screenshots, always better to see the real thing. I am optimistic, this is a new movie should be good , like your previous work.
