Try it when you have a chance, maybe a wk-end around 1pm (?).

I don't think it would hurt it, but maybe if you're concerned (which is fine), watch another movie or two with some nice LFE that you've already heard & Know (or have read about), THEN throw in WOTW. And yes, it will be Devastating - but in a way...

I bought the sub, partly from your input and many others experience with it. I'm also very happy with it and it almost gets better with time (is that possible).

One mod I may make is to build a sub stand like the subdude, etc to "disconnect" it from the floor.

Man this can shake the house!

Glad you're happy with it. I've honestly been surprised that I'm still happy with it- for awhile there I had upgradeitis for everything! Now I just enjoy what I have.

Added bluearth, but if I'm missing folks, please let me know. I come back every few days to check on things.

Doing good- my daughter turned 6 today. Probably going to Stonefire or Chuckee Cheese for some 'za and games with the family tonight. Have to go out of town again on Sunday through Wednesday to HICKSVILLE, OH of all places.

Hope life is treating you well (better than trips to Hicksville, anyway)!

Well, I hope she has a great B-Day with you and the family my friend.

Just finished DEATH PROOF on bluray - LOVE that movie. Excellent Audio (LOTS of Music, old stuff that is Very QUENTIN T., cool stuff). Some Nice LFE as well, surprisingly.

Well, after a couple days of ownership, I can easily say that I'm 110% satisfied with the PA-120. This thing is ridiculous! For the price I paid, I can't imagine anything else out there sounding as good as this.

I demo'd various scenes over the weekend, including the tunnel chase in The Dark Knight and the D-Day landing in Saving Private Ryan. So far, the highlight for me was the opening chase sequence in Quantum of Solace. Oh my dear lord. I can't really describe it any other way...the line from Ace Ventura about a clean pair of shorts comes to mind.

New pictures will be posted soon.

I'll have to check this one out. I own QOS but have not watched it since I've bought my PA-120 (in April). I'll tell ya - once it a while a movie scene will just JUMP out at ya with the PA-120!!!

You're telling me. Just watched War of the Worlds last night - holy crap.

How do you guys have your subs configured? On my receiver, I have all my speakers set to "small" with the crossover at 80Hz. On the sub itself, the LPF is at 160Hz, phase at 0, volume at 6. I think it sounds awesome, but I want to make sure it's not set improperly.

TDK & SPR are very good tests, esp. that tunnel chase one in TDK. When "The Joker" fires that RPG, I was Not expecting what I heard & FELT!! (it felt like a Low Heavy Punch to the gut out of freakin' Nowhere!)

So far though, the opening Pod Emergence street scene in WAR OF THE WORLDS takes the cake for Long, Heavy Sustained LFE Intensity.

No kiddin!

I think the most surprising times are in "kids movies".
Toy Story, Horton hears a Who - that one shook the house!. Those are funny since you're not expecting it!

Default "Toy Story 2" - New Reference LFE Bluray!!!

Hey everyone. I watched TOY STORY & all but the last 15 mins. of TOY STORY 2 Thursday. TOY STORY has some Amazing Low-End in many scenes & for the most part, they were of the "out of the blue", "Holy Crap!! variety. A few times, they caught me Completely off guard & I jumped a bit off my couch!

Then I put in TOY STORY 2 & just the Opening few minutes alone (3-4 mins., opening scene) had some Incredible LFE moments & flat out Awesome Audio. I've heard/read that some HT Retailers use that opening scene to Demo their product(s) & I now know why. DEMO WORTHY REFERENCE QUALITY by far!!!

I have Flight of the Phoenix on BD. There's some very good low bass content near the beginning when the plane attempts to fly over the dust storms. My PA 120s sounded incredible.

Ok, I'll try to watch that one tomorrow then & report my findings (& usual "Review" in my thread & here).

I think the thing I am most pleased with about this sub is that when I'm listening to something at night on low to moderate volume, the bass is detailed and full without needing to be turned down so I don't wake the neighbors. Mind you, I'm not watching Iron Man or anything, but still. I watched Cemetery Junction the other night, and factory sounds were deep and immersive and gorgeous.

A good sub for me.
