Default Omega Man release....

My question is simple. Is the HD Omega Man release by Warner simply cashing in on the timing of the theatrical release of The last Man on Earth? No extras seem to be apparent and the DD mono track is a very weak selling point. Sure, one can argue movie integrity, but many BD supporters enjoy hearing an audio remixing and up-grade to either a 5.1 PCM or DTS HD. Seems like a rush job all around. Double dipping at some later date with an expanded audio track?

where are you? in Canada they named it after the book (I am Legend) the name "the last man on earth" I believe was also the name of the 1954 version of a movie from the same book!

I love my trivia, anyways I'm sure it is a grab for sales I can't wait to see it in theaters and I'll be getting Omega man on BD this week

EDIT: found the 1954 movie look like it's free to download http://www.archive.org/details/the-last-man-on-earth it's a good movie with Vincent Price I rather enjoyed the ending had a bit of a twist I was wrong it's 1964

You are right on the title. Three different movie titles. One book. Getting confussed. The last man on earth was an AIP American/Italian 1961 or 2 Vincent Price movie.

They probably are trying to cash in on "I am Legend" being that there are so many titles they have to choose from to release on BD, but that doesn't bother me at all. I'm just happy they are releasing one of my favorite sci-fi films on BD. Hope they will release "Soylent Green" on BD as well.

Soylent Green! Forgot about that one. Another Heston Classic. Hopfully someone will do a re-make of this movie so we can get the original on BD. Maybe in PCM Mono? I do miss the 70's films. They seem to have been overlooked for sometime.

Yeah, that was a great one. It dealt with global warming long before it became fashionable. Has one of my favorite title sequences ever.

Did Heston make any other 70s films besides these two? I can't think of any just now.

Did he ever star in any of the Irwin Allen "Disaster" films? Good memory on those others.

Maybe you should, its one of the great endings. Younger movie fans may not know about it.

No. Just kidding beta-guy. And I just kidded you back with the Vader thing. Homer did that while walking out of the theater next to a line of people waiting to get into see the SW film. I forgot about the movie, but could never forget the punch line. It was one of a number of ecological films that the 1970s produced. Pollution and Ecology was huge then. I'm actually excited for the future when I finally get to sample a bar of Soylent Green. I'd imagine it tastes something like dried seaweed and chicken....
