I DVR'd No Country for Old Men the other day, going to get around to it this weekend or next week.

Everybody else seems to be doing it, so I will watch “A Clockwork Orange” too.

It’s been a favorite for a long while now. Brutal and disturbing with only marginal graphicness by today’s standards; combined with the music and fantastic imagery, the film has quite an impact. It tells a fascinating story with strong themes concerning free will and human nature, and probably loads of other things too. Can’t say the characters are totally outstanding (heck, the main character is such a snake), but the acting is awesome.

Production design is very strange, to say the least (expect to see people with purple hair, prisons that look like warehouses, goofy-looking malls, and other weird things). Photography is very vivid. It’s pretty darn awesome to watch.

This film won’t be for everybody, due to its violent nature and its odd language. But I think it’s well worthwhile.

5/5 (entertainment: 4.5/5, story: 4.5/5, film: 5/5, i/e: 4.5/5)

The Blu-Ray is alright. Video has some soft spots, some noisy spots, and some slight color flickering in one scene. But for a film this old, it looks really slick. Sharpness is adequate, most of the color and contrast are excellent, and the image is very clean. Sound quality has its ups and downs; music sounded great, but some dialogue seemed really dated.

PQ: 4/5, AQ: 3.5/5

Finally got around to watching Inglorious Basterds (watched it in my hotel room).

First - great movie - such great acting from everyone, especially, the "villians". Wow.
Second - the tension in some scenes was just fantastic.
Third - great dialouge.
Fourth - why was it called, "Inglorious Basterds"?

The movie was definitely sold (and named) for the premise of this small group of men doing amazing acts of violence to stike fear into the hearts of the enemy.

However, they featured more as a subplot - in fact, you could have taken out almost every single bit of their story and it wouldn't have affected the movie's beginning, middle and end.

Still, a well made movie with some great acting - but at least, if I watch it again, I'll now better than to keep waiting to see how the "basterds" feature into the main plot. Now I know, they don't. Not in any way that truly matters.

I loved this movie I had to start watching it over last night. I can't get enough of how great the music is used in this. Just the idea of the movie the morality of it. Choosing to be good and having the choice made for you are two totally different things and this movie questions it.

You know me, I wondered about the diaper things, so I was wondering about the purple hair as well Maybe they thought purple hair was fashionable in the future. But yes a great movie, I will definitely be getting this on Blu

I just saw braveheart on blu ray for the first time. I saw it before when my cousin got it on those big laserdisc thingy. I was only about 10 at the time. I didn't remember it being this graphic and bloody. It was really good the first time, but the gore kind of took out the fun this time. I just watch Inception as well. Manthis movie is good. I didn't get the movie the first time. I thought he was being set up by the government. This is one of the few movies that make you think about it for awhile.

i reviewed this film a long time ago and i wasn't a fan of it. i guess i fall into the "hate it" grouping since the film is either a "love it or hate it" affair but i completely respect anyone who does love the film, because i saw glimmers of why people find it so amazing, but for me personally, it did nothing.

but reading "I can't get enough of how great the music is used in this" made me realize how much people love this film and how much i don't, because i can't remember the music right now for the life of me

Eh It's all good. I understand not everyone likes it. the movie was just perfect for me. I think music was one of the strongest elements about the movie. If you ever do rewatch pay attention to the music

Same here. I really like Mean Girls as well and think it's her best one. It has a pretty solid cast actually too.

Twister - 5/5

I usually don't rate my favorites, but I just watched the UK version and it was pretty kickass! If you haven't bought this and you want the best, import the UK version. Much more loud, dynamic, versatile soundtrack and the PQ seemed better, more vibrant. The detail and texture seemed better and the colors popped a bit more.

Still surprised at how hated this one is, I mean I don't even like car racing and I still love this movie.

I had a horrible time trying to decide what to watch last night but I eventually went with

What Women Want

I remember watching it a long time ago when it first came out and I liked it. It still is a great movie. It's a question what I wonder about myself, what do women really want? This movie has a interesting aspect on it and what would a man do if he actually had the power to hear womens thoughts. Would he abuse it or use it for good. Mel Gibson did a great job, Helen Hunt did well but I can't stand looking at her butt ugly face. 4/5 out for me
