Already pre-ordered it! It's one of my six favorite feature movies directed by George Lucas.

This is excellent news! I have the Collector's Edition DVD, but haven't watched it in a long time, as I was hoping for a BD release!!

Now we just need to wait for the exact date to be announced!

This is one wonderful movie, full with warm characters, great rock 'n' roll, love, terrific story, masterful direction, and loads of beautiful nostalgia....Love it!

That would be a sweet release to get.

I can't wait for this thread to be flooded by all the Lucas haters making joke post on how he plan's to replace all the Harrison Ford scenes with a CGI Jar Jar Binks

Oh, come on, Pat! It's not THAT bad!

Cheer up, and think positive!

Lucas is only going to replace Toad with a CG Howard the Duck, as this is how G. had always envisioned Toad to look like!

Nah, don't let Ron Howard's presence scare you off. It's a great film. And it influenced tons of teen flicks much like Star Wars inspired a bunch of a sci-fi and big budget knockoffs.

Not really because if I remember correctly it actually was the inspiration for Happy Days. I think they said that somewhere in the documentary on the DVD. I can't wait to get this, I love this movie. Oh and lucas did digitally alter the sky at the beginning of the movie when they remastered it for DVD but that was it.

This is just another amazon place holder, it could be years before you get a release date, but a must have if it ever sees the light of day.

I'm hoping that Mr Lucas digitally adds the Fonz to this. At least for a small cameo.

From my long experience buying DVD/BDs from Amazon, believe me this is real. It's listed with a price and opened for pre-order. I've seen so many of this before so this is not the first title they open for pre-order without a date (which will usually be updated a few weeks later).

Placeholders have no price and only allows you to "Sign up to be notified when this item becomes available", like this:

Canada Dreams DO come true !

Next to LOA, 'AG' is my most hoped-for catalog title! With its great soundtrack, I'm hoping we get a lossless bump up in audio quality

I love this movie and already own it but I don't know if it would be worth buying again on Blu Ray mainly because most of the movie is at night and grainy. Any upgrade in picture quality would be so subtle to me that I wouldn't notice it. If there are alot extras not included on the DVD release, then I may jump on board.

Something about this film...I don't know. It doesn't leave me depressed, but I guess a little down. More just that sense of longing for the good old days of High School(even though, for me, that wasn't very long ago at all).

That said, still a great movie that I wasn't so sure that I would have enjoyed as much as I do(especially considering how it leaves me feeling at the end). Depending on the transfer, this will at least be a rental
