I don't think so, yes he set it very high but i'm sure someone else could put a different spin on it and make it just as good. I love Nolans Batman but imo Burtons version is pretty much just as good. I don't want to see the next guy take it in the same realistic direction as Nolan. I want to see something totally new and different.

Well I'll openly admit this is not my area, since:

(1) I love Nolan, and
(2) I'm not crazy about comic-character action flicks (I prefer his other work).

Nolan's Batman Begins is probably my favorite, and I really enjoyed it, which is unusual for me. I think Snyder is ok, and own 300, which I think he wrote, but I felt the script was weak, even though the action kicked major butt! my 2 cents

re: the Burton version. I liked that too. Nicholson was perfectly cast.

I agree... I really liked the Burton films. In fact I rate Batman Returns as one of the best Batman movie ever made.

I would definitely like to see a film go deeper into the character. Nolan's films give motivation to the characters, but they seem very plot driven rather than character driven (if that makes sense). There was a really good episode in Batman: TAS the delved into the character; I think it was "I Am the Night".

Same here! Returns is a great Batman movie. Very very well crafted with all the duality that goes on in it.

Well they seem to be more about the story of the characters rather than the characters themselves, yes that seems a bit confusing but honestly a Watchmen style Batman would probably put up TDK style box office numbers and maybe even push for film of the year, something TDK could not do.

I'd like to see a live-action Batman Beyond film franchise.

Post Nolan should be a Batman that exists in a greater DC universe rather then in a realistic Superhero free world. Post-Nolan should be an older seasoned veteren who can hold his own onscreen with Superman and The Flash.

That would be fine by me. I like the idea of a more seasoned Batman on-screen. I also think it would be a good idea to at least have Batman be open to a larger universe so if a Justice League movie is in the works, film-makers do not have to worry about properties being tied up.

Ah....I see what you are after. Then Snyder could do something here. But it needs to go in a totally different direction for it to work.
