Hmmmm... votes are pretty even making my decision that much tougher... don't get me wrong, I appreciate the input!!!
if you plan on getting a new av receiver that processes TRueHD/DTS-HD-MA then get the panny and make all the new lights come on...

if not get the PS3... that simple

they are both are great BLuray players... if you're more into the audio side get the panny

Does the Onkyo 605 decode True HD / DTS-HD-MA ? If so, that's the receiver I own. (I believe it does).

So, you think the Panny is worth the extra $100 over the 40gb PS3? I AM excited that the Panasonic passes the newer audio codecs, but how does PQ compare to the PS3? Has anyone toyed with both that can make a side by side comparison of PQ on both?

I do yes... even if image quality was equal I think the panny is a good buy, but i do hear/think the pic is slightly better.

haven't done any side by sides... the PQ is amazing that's all haha

I just went from the Sony 300 to the Panny 30 and I could see the PQ difference. Seemed to have better color saturation and even a bit more detail in clarity. This was just an unexpected bonus as I was going for the DTS HD coding primarily.

Must agree with those about the 30 because of audio.

I've read that the PS3 had better PQ than the 300. Can anyone tell me if the PQ of the Panny is noticeably different than the PS3 (worth the $100 price difference)... and the poll is tied again... a real battle here.
