FX always debuts their shows the same time every year. So Season 2 can be expected right about mid-March of every year. They also tend to release their shows on BD a week before the next season premieres so expect that to be the first week of March as well. With SOA being put out on Blu and It's Always Sunny I would expect it to get the same treatment. But March of 2011 is the month you're going to be waiting for. When SOA and Terriers complete their run, "Lights Out" should follow in mid-December and that will fill the gap until Justified returns in mid-March.

I'm also waiting for it but I know that they don't release the shows until a week or two before they release the next season. I watched up to episode 6 and kinda lost track so I need to start over.

Fully expected this since SOA and Damages are too. But it's great to get confirmation of it anyways. My guess for a release would be late February/early March.

Nice. I may or may not get it right away, but I do love this show, so I will likely buy it at some point at least. I just hope Sony actually keeps releasing the following seasons of this show, unlike what Fox does with some of the shows they release (except for Sons of Anarchy).

During last night's SOA they aired a Season 2 promo which was just made up of footage from the first season, but it did say the show returns in February. So it's coming back earlier than I thought, didn't season 1 premiere in March of this year?

Yes, Justified premiered in March of this year. I'll take it a month earlier.

I guess that moves up your estimate for Season One's Blu-ray release to late January/early February.

I had assumed with Lights Out premiering in January that Justified would return as soon as this ended, but since this is back in February I guess that will give us Lights Out on Tuesdays, and Justified on Wednesdays.

'Lost' vet Jeremy Davies joins Justified

Exclusive: Lost physicist Jeremy Davies is joining FX's neo-Western Justified.

Davies is joining the show's season two cast in a heavily recurring role as a nemesis to Timothy Olyphant's U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens.

The setup is certainly intriguing: Davies plays "Dickie Bennett," the smartest of three brothers and a high school rival of Givens. Since Prohibition, the Bennett and Givens families have warred like the Hatfields and McCoys. Dickie's family traffics in weed, for which Bennett spent time in prison. He still walks with a limp due to an altercation with Raylan on the baseball field when they were both 17.

Best known to TV fans from his role as ever-distracted physicist Daniel Faraday on Lost, the Untitled Entertainment-repped Davies has an impressive list of theatrical credits including Saving Private Ryan, Rescue Dawn and Solaris.

Justified makes its return in February with 13 episodes.

'The Complete 1st Season' DVD and Blu-ray Trailer Reveals Date

A little over a month ago we reported that Amazon had begun taking pre-orders for DVD and Blu-ray Disc releases of Timothy Olyphant in his FX Channel series Justified - The Complete 1st Season. Amazon didn't have the street date, though, because Sony hasn't officially announced this title yet. However, a reader named "Chris" shot us a note earlier today, giving us the heads-up that a trailer for this home video release had been posted on YouTube. This video gives a release date of January 25th, and mentions extras will include:

* Justified - Meet the Characters
* Shooting for Kentucky
* Meet the Marshals
* Cast and Crew Commentaries
* "What Would Elmore Do?": An Interview with Elmore Leonard

Official Sony Announcement for 'The Complete 1st Season' Brings More Details and Extras

This past Friday we posted a story with an online video trailer for Justified - The Complete 1st Season on DVD and high-def Blu-ray Disc. That trailer revealed the release date of January 25th, and many of the extras. Today Sony Pictures Home Entertainment formally announced the title, confirming the date and the costs ($39.95 SRP for the DVD, and $49.95 SRP for the Blu-ray). It also had some additional information!

The DVD version clocks in at 552 minutes running time on 3 discs, with anamorphic widescreen video and audio in English 5.1, Portuguese 5.1, and Spanish Dolby Stereo, plus closed captioning. The BD version, on the other hand, shows "572 minutes" (twenty minutes longer!) for the running time, per the studio-provided information. A typo on one of these? Maybe. The Blu version also gets high-def widescreen video, English 5.1 audio (no mention as to whether it's a high-definition-audio format or not), and English subtitles. In addition, there's more bonus material listed than the trailer showed: a music video, a "look ahead" to the second season, plus details about the cast-and-crew audio commentaries.
