![]() I never thought that I would say the following, but they need to can L&O:LA, pronto! It bears no resemblance to any of its L&O siblings in terms of atmosphere or intrigue, with plodding storylines and dialogue, and performances that can only be characterized as pedestrian in some instances. Can we just pull the plug? |

I don't care about many of the new shows, but The Event and Law and Order: LA getting back 9 orders isn't surprising. We already know an announcement for Chuck could come any day now.

I hope they announce the back 9 soon so they can start shooting. I don't want a long hiatus in between the original 13 and back 9. I don't remember what kind of a wait was there last year during the back 6 time?

It's actually possible that there will be no break if they announce it really soon. The original 13 isn't even at the halfway point yet, so there's still time. We'll see of course.

I think it's very likely that there will be a significant break with Chuck. NBC doesn't air repeats of Chuck and seems to like to show it many weeks in a row. If they show all 13 initial episodes by the December hiatus, which is what I would expect, then they'd only have 9 more episodes to air over the 5 remaining months of the season. I wouldn't be surprised if they pulled Chuck until March or even April for the back 9. The other alternative would be to start showing the back 9 in January and have the season finale in March.

Chase was up 0.1 to a 1.6 rating with adults 18-49.
Hawaii Five-0 edged out Castle at 10pm with adults 18-49, but as a consolation prize for those rooting for Castle, it had more viewers than H50. Castle was flat vs. last week’s final #s, but Hawaii Five-0′s 2.9 rating was down 6% to its lowest rating yet. How a show with over 10 million viewers like H50 could be in jeopardy just blows my mind. You'd think it wouldn't be completely about advertising, but that is all that really matters, quality of shows are irrelevant. |

It's odd that NBC is giving full season orders to so many shows considering they have a lot of midseason replacements and seemingly few spots for all of them. NBC has "Harry's Law," "Love Bites," "The Cape," "Friends with Benefits," "The Paul Reiser Show" "Perfect Couples," "Parks & Recreation," "The Marriage Ref," "Minute to Win It," and "Celebrity Apprentice" all available at midseason. I'm guessing some of those shows will have to be held for summer.
