Creepshow- classic fun 80s horror movie. easily my favorite horror anthology film.
Drag Me to Hell- watching it this time i realized there was nothing about it i didnt like. i think for me why i enjoy it so much is Raimi's talent for making horror enjoyable, its the kind of movie that makes you jump and then laugh about it. the sound in the movie is incredible too.
Halloween- what can i say, its the movie that made me the horror fanatic i am today.

Not sure if this is on a release or not, but it should be.
Wow. Can't believe I missed that one. I can't find a release for it, but it did just come out. It'll probably be on A&E's website for $20 or more soon.

Have you seen Going to Pieces: The Rise and Fall of the Slasher Film yet? I watched it last week and thought it was pretty interesting.

Yea I actually watched that back when it came out. If I remember correctly I think I did like it but again thought it was weird in parts so it makes sense that it had the same feel now knowing Zombie's style. Got Em!!

Yea 3 stars for me means a decent film actually. 3 1/2 means pretty good or a cool film. Anyhoo I think Zombie is an acquired taste director. I have to admit he isnt scared to do what he wants with his films. Haha. Got Em!!

Dawn of the Dead (remake) kicked off my Halloween horror movie marathon. I have always liked it, and while it may not have the classic feel that the original has, I just love how it's done. Definitely one of my favorite zombie films.

The rest of this season:

10/26 "Gojirra" 1/2. Rather dated, a bit slow, but the mass destruction rocks.

10/28 "The Broken" . The photography is beautiful, but the movie's slow as hell.

10/29 "Children of the Corn" 1/2. Some dumb parts, but the premise is in itself freaky!

10/29 "Dracula" 1931 . Very dated, rather laughable in some parts, but still very iconic.

10/30 "The Experiment" 2010 . The original's the best, for sure, but I think this one was well-made, and it is interesting to see a different outlook and outcome for this story.

10/30 "The Rage: Carrie 2" 1/2. It has its weaknesses, but it still entertains, especially during the ending.

10/31 "Constantine" . Pretty weird and unusual, but I find it very interesting.

10/31 "The Exorcist" . Every time the demon appears, I feel dread...

And here's the entire rundown for this season; 30 horror movies for October (plus 17 horror movies in September, two horror-comedies, and a couple of really wicked anime shows):

09/09 "The Evil Dead" 4/5
09/09 "The Evil Dead II" 4/5

Movie # 32, The Mist, Frank Darabont, 2007

The first " real grownup " book I ever read was Steven King's Skeleton Crew. The story that stuck with me the most was The Mist. I always thought it would make a great movie. It took a while to make it to the screen, but I'm happy to say I was right.
Frank Darabont's The Mist is top notch all the way. It's got a great uncompromising script and great actors. ( Marcia Gay Harden is outstanding as a despicable religious zealot)The monsters are great and the suspense keeps you on the edge of your seat. It also has a pretty shocking ending for a studio movie. Great stuff !
