I hope there's separate releases of the films later. I really only want the original.

I doubt they'll release them individually.

That would be too bad...Germany and France are getting individuals...there may still be hope.

After the enevitable $10 coupon, it'll probably cost at most $25 + tax. Fantasia 2000 hardly adds to the overall cost in the end.

True, but you get both films for the price we have to pay for one.
(even cheaper, if you get coupons for the Fantasias^^)

After looking at the Fantasia Combo-Pack box, it seems to be the thickness of two Blu-Ray cases. Would anyone else here suggest that Disney would simply be putting the 2 separate Fantasia products into the slipcase? Afterall, it would make sense that they re-use the Fantasia 2000 case being sold in Germany on its own, and then have standalone Fantasia one next to it.

I think that's right, but you're talking about the UK version - the US one looks like a normal case's thickness (unless there's a new picture I've not seen) as opposed to two separate cases (probably because it's just getting the 2-film release in North America, as opposed to any separate one for either film)

I for one am not sure what to do... I like to order my Disney Animated Classics in release order, but I do want both films, and I want them in slipcovers (i.e., I don't want to just take them out of the UK slipcase if they are packaged separately). Tempted by the French one for Fantasia 2000 for the separate release with slipcover, but the French text on the case would annoy me. Decisions decisions. Ocd ocd.

If I saw someone's BD/DVD collection and saw titles from different regions, that would be

It shows the person is a fan of all/world cinema. Plus, I always think it's nice to have a title from a different region.

Don't be annoyed, embrace it.

And it looks like a fold-out.

(And again, people: YOU DON'T NEED SLIPCOVERS. They're literally the tag on your mattress--You can throw them away, the store can't.)

Does it really matter whether you do or don't need them? Some people like them because they make the case look at bit more fancy or special, they're not designed to be thrown away.

I hope it's just a case and not a fold-out digipack (in which case you NEED the slipcover to hold the thing together). Not to stir up some sh!t, but since you're getting the slipcover, you might as well take it and keep it. Chucking it makes no difference to Disney, they'll just keep making em.

I was sad the French slipcases have the odd spine as well, but the German cases have the text going top to bottom like U.S. releases. The French cover doesn't have that weird ratings box on the front, but that's not a big deal. I ordered the German versions and I'll let you know how they turn out.

Actually, if you want to upgrade your old DVD, they ask you to enter the UPC code from your old disk(either movie), and your number may vary.

Not sure whether the above number was a promotional number from an e-mailing, but it's a good idea to keep this within the "upgrade" promotion, while we can still get coupons.

(The coupon is also good only for the opening week of sales, through 12/4.)
