I just took the time to e-mail the article to everyone on my contact list for e-mails. Alot of them are people I don't know ( contacts of my wife), but if it helps sway just one to Blu, it works for me.
Just think if we all forward this article to everyone on our lists how many people it would touch. Go Blu!

Its not a pity if your a BD supporter but i can understand the disappointment for the HD-DVD collectors just as the BD supporters were disappointed with Paramount.

What's funny is that I posted the article with no commentary and a title of "BusinessWeek Article (12/6) on Wooing Warner".

That thread was still deleted after about 10 posts and about an hour. If that doesn't say AVS is pure red, I don't know what does.

I agree. I would feel bad for some.

However, some of those fud-makers and outright liars - and we know who they are - deserve the disappointment and they deserve this to be buried into their face if/when this all goes down.

Unfortunately there are always bad apples in every camp.

Some, but not all. Anyone who said 30gb was good enough, cheap players are the way to go, Sony stinks, etc. will not get one ounce of sympathy. Especially the HT "enthusiasts" who knowingly championed an inferior format on an emtional level have also lost all respect from me. AVS forum is dead to me, as are a whole bunch of other HT sites.

Those who I can sypathize with are those that chose HD-DVD based on their initial superior output to BD's less than spectacular launch. Those that just did not know any better or who read the FUD articles online and in print. Those who thought (seriously) that Blu-ray was just too expensive for them.

I love AVS. That whole entire site has been tainted by the outstandingly shitty jobs the mods have done on control the flow of the HD sections.

At the end of this, and when Blu-ray wins, I will religiously post every inaccurate FUD spreading rumour from long-standing members in that forum. At the end of this, every single HD DVD spamming zealot needs to have their post count erased and any accolades they have previously gathered in their FUD spreading crusade.

In fact, I think every pro HD DVD author needs to be constantly reminded about how they were wrong. Let Warner go exclusive and watch the back-pedaling.

You know some people may think Amir would be the one they'd be happiest to laugh at, but at least he's been getting paid to do what he does. From what I hear rdjam gets paid too, to maintain the Campaign HD site he gets a couple hundred bucks a month which is way more than the operating costs.

Even folks I used to find unbearable like Lee Stewart have seemed much more rational of late...but there are definitely some people like ...

Nah screw it, I'd love to laugh at Amir and rdjam, who am I kidding?

I think it speaks volumes that Steve Nickerson left his position at WHV. Most everyone in the CE industry knows he previously held a position at Toshiba prior coming to WHV. It was like he was greasing the skids for WHV transition to HD DVD.... Funny though when WHV did not agree to a MS/Toshiba payout for exclusitity he walked.

I have said it many times in the past and I will repeat it again:

WHV going BD exclusive will end this war since two majors and one minor (DW) studios will not be able to carry a format. If WHV wants this nonsense to end they are in the best position to end and make a statement. If they go with HD DVD, it's a stalemate. HD DUD'ers don't want to believe it, but at this point I don't see Disney or Fox going HD DVD and it is highly unlikely that Sony would release on HD DVD for several years even if HD DVD was the winner. The power to swing this once was all on Universal and now the fate of the future of HDM is in WHV's hands. Let's all hope they make the right decision.

BD it is just better... High bitrate audio and video... more storage space... Disney titles... PiP(next month.. there goes a HD DVD talking point)... PS3 is the jack of all trades...

I will by no means feel sorry for those who chose PiP over superior sound. But the vast majority of people who bought a HD-DVD player did so because of Toshibas insistance on selling at a loss and throwing in 10 or more movies. Their only saving grace is that they were cheap and can still operate as an upscaling DVD player.

You know the AVS mods will close the boards when BD wins for several weeks... they are going to try to avoid having their noses rubbed in it.

I hear ya. But, this particular rumor seems to hold more weight than anything we've seen up to this point.

There might be a changing of the guards over there when that happens. Deleting threads from legitimate sources is incredible.

I am new here. Who is Penton-man? I know he posts in the insider thread. How is his previous record? Just curious.

Also, I was a daily visitor at the AVS forum. But, for them to delete posts discussing the Business Week article is contemptable. This is a legit news story, from a legit source about a legit issue.

all you have to do is start from page one of that thread and see what he's said from his 1st post in the insider's thread and so on to see how reliable he is...

but he's only said this was a rumor...
