I wish Dave Vaughn would not "leak" the numbers out every week now... it takes all the fun out of things. 58-42. Solid for that week.

Maybe the surprise is that he leaked the wrong numbers...

That would teach a lesson to all those people on AVS begging him and pleeding with him to release them early all the time
He did say that people would be surprised... that's one way to make sure people are

Wow, I predicted 62:38 last week, and was basically called an idiot, because "catalog sales don't matter".

Anchorman and Old School vs nothing forced Blu to take a hit, like I knew it would.

Things will be back to normal next week.

uh... except that those two titles sold like ass so they didn't effect the week(hardly). it's because of UK and US bought planet earth that sold almost as well as our diehard.

I say at minimum, we'd be seeing 80:20 every week, if not higher.
80:20 or better seems about right. Those sort of ratios on a regular basis would eventually bring Universal into the Blu-ray camp (possibly exclusively) and may even cause P/DW to pull out of their deal early.

At this time it's speculation, but if what we are told is true - that most interested parties (inc. studios & retailers) want to see one format - then THEY have to make it happen. Waiting for J6P to choose the HD format of the future would mean waiting forever!

It would be a fine irony if 'The Dark Knight' was a Blu-ray exclusive as all the High Def discs of 'Batman Begins' sold so far are only on HD DVD!

Pirates 3 & Superbad will bring huge Blu numbers next week.

I'm looking at at least 70-30.

Thanks Gary, I stand corrected.

So I guess it was simply that Blu had no competitive new titles out last week.

You do realize that design was also the Pink Floyd "Dark Side of the Moon" cover and that it is incredibly common?

Default Die Hard

I was wondering if anyone has numbers regarding the sales of the Die Hard series on Blu-Ray? Thanks.

Plus all of the people with gift certificates, new PS3s, and so on will out buying BDs, wouldn't worry about it. Cat People? Timecop? Please... they won't even show up in their top 10. Eastern Promises, while rated well, probably won't either.
Also add....

Heartbreak Kid bombed. The Kingdom might be decent but it bombed at the box office also. That week isn't scaring me.

I doubt Time Cop will do much but I wish Blu-Ray could get some Van Damme of its own. If only Warner would release Bloodsport on Blu I could die a happy. Thats right I loves me some Van Damme.

Heartbreak Kid was a half-hearted attempt to do another There's Something About Mary, by the same people, but failed miserably. The Kingdom did pretty bad, but may sell OK, never saw it myself.

Maybe they are trying to put together an article on the Business Week story and the Warner rumor.
