What system do you have? I was informed that the Sony demo disc won't work in anything but a Sony 3D player.

Just watched Coraline last night. Very strange movie but kinda good. The depth of the movie was great and it had some good 3D moments. But I thought Ice Age was better.

i just bought a panasonic 3d blu-ray player and tv and can get either coraline or ice age 3 3d blu-ray from mail in offer.. i have seen both films in 2d, and enjoy both, coraline is probably the more 'mature' of the two.. but which provides the best 3d experience?

thanks,
michael

Ice Age is reported to have the best 3D between the two and of all the animated titles thus far.

Both are excellent but Ice Age is probably the best example of 3d right now.

It may have been formerly an exclusive to Panasonic‘s 3D HDTV displays but it will become available at all retailers nationwide on January 4th, 2011. The title I’m talking about here is Universal‘s 2009 Henry Selick directed stop-motion film “Coraline” on Blu-ray 3D. The tech specs and bonus materials have not been announced but they should hopefully include some bonus content, unlike the previous exclusive version which had no content what-so-ever. The title is not yet available for pre-order over at Amazon yet but stay tuned and we’ll keep you updated on that as well.

Default Coraline - FULL HD 3D - Now Available!

I know it was posted in the Panasonic exclusive thread, but a thread for the retail release would be good as well.

According to a listing by Universal Studios Home Entertainment, it seems there are plans to release 'Coraline' on Blu-ray 3D for retail release on January 4th, 2011.

I have done a bit of research on this release, and everything is listed rather mysteriously at the moment. Panasonic 3DTV owners are already aware that the included Coraline Blu-ray 3D promo release featured no bonus features, but English 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio.

There appears to be a chance that the Blu-ray release will be packaged as a combo pack, including a DVD and Digital Copy of the film. However, I am not sure if the Blu-ray 3D disc will include any actual features this time around either as there is nothing listed.

There is a DVD and Digital Copy listed which are specific, and the Blu-ray 3D disc is specific....just no extras listed. There is DTS-HD MA. The Digital Copy expires in 2012 it appears, and a DVD includes special features... I will continue to ask around about this release and will update you if I hear anything more.

Unfortunately I am unaware of any retail Blu-ray 3D plans for Ice Age 3. I am curious if Universal Studios will include any extras on the 3D disc or if they plan to include the same version provided with Panasonic bundles.

I still have the original version released last year. I will probably keep it when I upgrade if there are no Blu-ray extras.

Hopefully the 3D Full HD release will contain all the extras from the 2D/anaglyph release.

Good to here of exclusive titles getting general retail releases.

Although it hardly qualifies, there is a bonus(at least on the Panasonic freebie I purchased from eBayUK). It's the trailer for 'Despicable Me' which, at the time I bought it, I hadn't heard of.

The rest of your info is correct. Just thought I'd mention it.

John.

Default Original Coraline 3D blu-ray vs New Coraline 3d

I have the original Coraline 3D version that came with the glasses in the box. (paper etc...)

Will the new release be a new disc/technology or will it be the same as the one I have (and I can just use the glasses)?

Thanks!

Different. It will be similar to the ones that they use in theaters and you need a 3D blu-ray player and tv.

I have a sealed copy of Coraline if anyone is looking for one now. Looking to sell outright, or trade for Alice in Wonderland or How to Train your Dragon.
