So it doesn't make it look any better?

It might seem a little smoother, but it's the exact same frames. Either way, nothing does 24hz so it's going to be 48hz or more. 120hz seems to be the standard they are working toward for displays, because it supports 24, 30 and 60.

Some sets actually interpolate new frames.

Great another flavor of pulldown. I do wish they'd quit screwing with this stuff.

With the Sony SXRDs you can turn it off (they call it MotionFlow) and get a proper 24p.

It all comes down to personal preference. Some like the way film sources looks at 120 HZ and some don't.

Yeah, but take something like Grindhouse. You should be able to force a hard 24hz so you get that fluttery cheap theater thing.

It took some getting used to. Film does look like video at that refresh rate and I wasn't sure if I would like it, but after a while, maybe a month, I just didn't notice it anymore.

Ive just recently bought the LNT5271 120hz lcd not sure if its 24fps also but it does make the BD movies crisp and clear so clear that it doesnt look like a film any more specially POTC its like your looking through glass or playing a HD camcorder - i try to turn it down set it to low and yes it does blur on some scene when the AMP is on but when its turn off the tv is excellent - you just have to see and check it out if the feature of the tv looks good to you.

It all depends on what you want to see from film. A lot of people think it makes film look too much like video. Now, for those who think film on HD should look like HDTV, they may prefer that. Others would prefer maintaining the 24p cadence.
