Not only are the layer change pauses gone, but Blu-Ray supports seamless branching too. Check out Spiderman 2 and 2.1 (on the same Blu-Ray disc). You'll have to either buy the trilogy box set or rent the Spidey 2 Blu-ray on blockbuster.com or netflix.com.
Pretty awesome technology. I understand your concern xwingsct. I had the same concern when I bought my PS3, but I can confirm that there is no such thing as layer change pauses on Blu-ray. I will always be aware of this when watching higher capacity Blu-ray discs too (if BD100 or BD200 ever become a reality). |
