So, DON'T play the sane prophet role here as I have repeatedly said on many forums that it is Christmas and Q4 results that will guide WB and their future positioning in the war. Based on what they have revealed to the media. This is hardly the case with the propaganda team on a few other sides the red camp has dispatched to muddle the waters...claiming that WB is locked in future red deal. ALL THINGS CONSIDERED THE BLU COMMUNITY HAS BEEN VERY CAUTIOUS and level-headed! Dr. A |

January 16, 2007 GoodFellas (Warner) Scooby-Doo (2002) (Warner) January 30, 2007 Beerfest (Warner) The Wicker Man (2006) (Warner) February 13, 2007 The Departed (Warner) February 27, 2007 Bullitt (Warner) The Getaway (1972) (Warner) March 27, 2007 Happy Feet (Warner) March of the Penguins (Warner) National Geographic: Relentless Enemies (Warner) Those are the movies released by Warner Bros. on Blu-ray during the first three months of 2007. They offered four more in April, four more in May, four more in June, four more in July, four more in August, and expanded to 15 in September. Oh, BTW, "The Invasion" was delayed til January 29th. Warner Bros. has no titles announced (outside of New Line titles) after next week until January 29th (aside from a music title which could easily be delayed). ~Alan Last edited by Alan Gordon; 12-11-2007 at 04:47 AM. |

Fact of the matter is that the presence of Microsoft in the red camp makes such a move that much more elusive. No one could deny it. They have the means to destroy the BDA's advantage in the war. This being said however as much as our community is frustrated with this fiasco so are more than a few level-headed gentlemen at some key posts. What does this means? It means that the only thing we could do is keep buying BR software and ratchet up the WB sales numbers. Anyone who tells you that sales are minuscule and don't matter is flat out a demagogue. Much like a few notable "neutral" analysts whose favorite line is "the market and sales are so small it is too early to make a call". It isn't and it is not! The future is happening now!! Dr. A |

We can also toss in Poseidon 1/16/07 for HD-DVD 11 released titles during the first 3 months of 2007 is a far cry from 6 announced for 5 months. That's nearly a 50% reduction. |

![]() Wow. What logic makes you think they would go RED? They have NO reason at all to go red, and I don't think the Paramount thing is going to happen again. Get over it dude. ![]() |

Oh I agree whole-heartedly! But I think that Microsoft's plan is that both Hi-def formats fail and that people will only have DDLs as their choice in Hi-def formatted video. The fact that DVD sales are starting to wane is the indication that hard media was starting to die off, opening the door for DDLs. But now that there's BETTER than DVD available, there's a possibility that hard media manufacturers and studios might see a resurgence in sales. This would not bode well for DDLs, so the sooner these new and improved formats fizzle out, the better. And if that's not possible, just keep the two around long enough for the public at large to get tired of waiting and in will step Microsoft to offer ALL your movie favorites in Hi-def, without needing a new fangled player to see them. I know there's quite a few insiders that can back this up...

2. Correct, I have that on HD DVD, but I just counted Blu-ray releases in my list. 3. Read my post again, I edited it after you quoted me. BTW, Warner Bros. sometimes announces titles two weeks in advance of street date. This is not all of Warner's announcements for the first half of 2008, this is just some of them (and if you'd note, most of the titles announced so far, are for titles coming with a simultaneous DVD release... hence the reason why they are announced so early. "Twister" being the obvious exception due to the fact that it was originally scheduled for 1/08/2008). ~Alan |

remember when Bill Hunt listed a bunch of catalog titles that were coming to HD DVD and Blu-ray about a month and a half ago. Only about 2 of those have been announced and both are pretty far off in the distant future. WB have been some of the biggest advocates of HDM and simply going from relasing mutliple titles/week, to a few over the course of a month is very odd and when things are odd, something is up. our trust insiders have pointed towards something being up, WB reps have pointed that something is up credible news sites have pointed to something being up, warner has been mute on this despite an articles in the NYT and Business Week hinting they will go BD exclusive, i don't know how ppl cannot think something is up. If they really were sooooo supportive of neutrality and were acccused of going exclusive soon, you'd think they would want to correct their image as millions of ppl read the NYT and BW.
