here something of interest "December 11th, of course, is the day that The Bourne Ultimatum will be landing on DVD / HD DVD, but what you may not realize is that it will also be launching on VUDU. Granted, we've seen simultaneous launches before, but this is quite an eventful way for VUDU to get the ball rolling on its HD movie releases." this may some of the preasure off BD...

That VUDU is a scary concept if it ever takes off.

Here's hoping it bombs.

Wicky says the box has two extra disks of special stuff that isn't all that big of a deal; he plans on substituting the two HP volumes 6 and 7 into the slots for those extra disks. That's one reason.

I say let's hope it's a success THIS week I'm hoping it'll draw off the HD-DVD supporters and make things easier on us...

Just placed an order for 12 titles... it would be more, but I opted to pick up the die hard collection rather than individuals.... HP I did, however get the individuals.

Hmm, a lot of people are buying movies as gifts this time of year, that whole concept kind of blows that out of the water for the studios. Do you actually own the movie, or do you have to pay for it every time you want to watch it?

Bourne 3 and Amazons Bourne trilogy have been beating Harry Potter BD Every day. The Order of the Pheonix has been winning on Red over blue every day and is the only HP movie in the top 100 right now is red, I thought these titles, or at least the box sets would be in the top 100. Man, I was going to wait untill AFTER Christmas to buy more discs, now I'm going to have to pull the triger early.

I'm headed over to Best Buy when it opens.

Die HD DUD, Die.

-Brian

p.s. No need to suggest WB going HD DUD exclusive as that's just about too silly.

I think you are a little out of touch with the latest forum happenings, it is understandable.
But from what I see, they are trying like they always do, but we are still winning. The sales on Amazon are in favor of Blu still, the latest rumors have been very strong and wide spread about WB going Blu, and they have no denied anything yet, and there is even talk of Universal going neutral...
I know a lot of it is speculation, but this is all coming from Penton Man!

Although Bourne will sell well, I do not see it outselling Blu-ray this week. I for one saw all three movies, and although they were good, I do not have any interest in owning them.

And now they are supporting VUDU? WTF.

Well you can't expect HD DVD not to make a run for it. They are trying to pull of what's akin to a photo finish. Will it be successful? I would seriously doubt it, however, I will say this.

If BD owns the entire year, even after the Paramount jump and WB decides to make a HD DVD jump based on one or two sales, which includes a bogo of DAY AND DATE, well, what the hell else can you do?

BD supporters have shown week in and week out that they are willing to buy in. HD DVD pulls a hardware dump and now a sale to try to secure something so they can claim we are a format on the rise...blah blah blah

If BD lost because of that, well, it would be the stinkiest corporate move I've ever seen.

Well I am buying Bourne on DVD today, and I may pick up a HP title. My wife is telling everyone I want Ocean's Trilogy and HP 5 on Blu-Ray, so I can't buy either of those. I bought 2 titles on Amazon.com yesterday though.

Me too. We must.

If we can keep the Nielsons strongly in Blu's favour, Warners would have no real reason to side with DUD, if they did it would look like they were paid off like Paramount. If DUD manages to pull of a win it could give Warners the reason they need to go with them. Unfortunately, they have favoured DUD from the beginning with Batman Begins and Matrix etc. I don't want to give them that reason they could be looking for. A Warners BOGO on Bourne week is a little suspicious IMO.

I agree - all the Harry Potter movies will sell more on Blu than Harry Potter AND Bourne on HD DVD combined.
