I actually would have no problem at all with downloading. But, I'd need to see:

(1) Standards supported by a lot of CE
(2) Wide range support from the studios
(3) Quality equal to or exceeding what is on disc
(4) Once purchased the title can be regained FOR FREE if storage dies, or the DRM key becomes invalid due to a hardware change.

But, I think it will be a mess of standards, and low-bit rates.

Ding ding. You will always have someone that wants more money, more control, more power and blah blah blah. Getting people to agree on the same thing when one person has to take a cut is next to impossible - hence why we currently have a format war now.

Until companies can really work together, standards across the board will never happen.

[QUOTE=dogger114;408072]I was just wondering how many people out there would rather download HD movies over owning a disc.QUOTE]

I'll have the disc everytime thanks. Download will only work when they're free. As we currently have to pay for our films I want something physical to show for my money. Not sat on a HDD that could decide to corrupt itself whenever it got the urge (especially if it's connected to a M$ system).

Give me discs and give them to me in Blu
