Default Mini Warner buy-athon this friday?

Short notice, I know. And someone else has probably started a thread similar to this. However I figured id do it just in case.

Here is my personal take on things. I love the Harry Potter books/movies. However I was going to wait until the next BOGO to get movies 1-4. But now I think that with all the Warner rumors, the best thing to do would be to buy them all now, perferably this week.

I would also suggest anyone who is on the fence about other warner titles to pull the trigger now.

Not only would we ensure that HP numbers are awesome (hopefully even better than 300) we give Warner even more incentive to go Blu-exclusive.

Well, let's see. I got HP 1-5, Blade runner on order, T3 on order, HAD led zeppelin planned (still on order) for this month, had Twister for next month (another delayed Title, but still on order).

Yeah, I actually already received the individuals for Harry Potter 1-5, The Shining...and I have Blade Runner shipping to me soon.

Not to mention 6 Warner titles during amazon's last BOGO

So...I had my own little Warner buying streak

I'm not going to do a buy-a-thon just to boost sales.

But I will buy movies that I want...and this month, I've bought Deliverance, Dog Day, Wild Bunch, Lethal Weapon 2, Harry Potter 3 & 5, and will be getting Terminator 3 and Pan's Labryinth (don't you gusy forget...New Line is part of Time Warner).

Still debating on Rush Hour 3. Nonetheless, I buy because I want. Just so happens...I wanted a lot of Warner movies.

Does anyone know if Shoot 'em Up is a good movie? Never heard of it, but almost all the Warner titles on their website I already have, so the pickings were pretty slim for me. I ordered it, along with a few others movies I've been wanting.

It was interesting, but there was a lot of things missing to make it a good movie. It had fun action, some humor, and Clive Owen, Monica Belluci, and Paul Giamatti. It was supposed to be way over the top with action and humor which worked sometimes, but fell flat others. Some of the good humor was that Owen seemed to have a lot of pet peeves and would just shoot at the things that irritated him...like pony tails and earrings on men...that was funny. Some people may like it more than I did, but I saw it in the theater and I won't be buying. They do say however that it has more action than all of the Die Hards combines...ha...it might.

Ok, thanks. Never heard of it, but I figured for $20 or so, it might be worth a buy. Can always trade it or sell it off if it's not my cup o' tea.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who went comatose during the BOGOs and the 25%off Warner code. I'm getting a steady stream of Warner products now but seeing the low prices my credit card gets dinged for makes me glad I was smart while I was entranced. Got the Potter gift set from Warner yesterday -- it was the first time in about a month that I had a WHV shipment come in a box that wasn't about5 to 10 times too big for its contents.

Here's another reason to have this WB buy-a-thon, hinted by an insider on another thread:

I used to participate in all the buyathons here, but just can't do it anymore. I have too many BD's (is that possible?) and the only way for me to participate would be if I started buying titles that I don't like. No way that's gonna happen. I did buy all 5 HP's this week, and have T3 and Blade Runner on pre-order. That will have to do it for me on Warner titles.

I say go for it though. Sales are sales
