I am a huge Blu-Ray supporter but those numbers just don't sound believable. But damn how I want that report to be true.

Here is hope I am dead wrong!

disney rules!!! Although by now, 160,000 units is a luxury... or bragging rights. It doesn't really matter how many units of a single movie is sold now. blu is way ahead of the competition.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Transformers sell 8.6m in DVD on the first week and 119k on HD-DVD? So PoTC3 was less successful on DVD but sold MORE copies on Blu-ray than Transformers on HD-DVD? That's probably is leaving Dreamworks a little cheesed off.

It's so nice to hear from an unbiased website that POTC 3 put up some great numbers and not the studio saying that it sold 190,000 copies, only for that to turn out to be a straight up lie. (Whoops!!! did I say that?...I'm not talking about you Paramount. *Looks away and winks* NOOOO!!! You wouldn't lie about anything. That's a nice Toshiba HD DVD player...Oh you got it for free, and $150 million dollars?!!!! That's good ass deal.) LOL!!!!!!

in the article they say that the # for Transformers included copies to rental companies and the # of Pirates is what sold to consumers.

Right click your mouse at the top of your page where you should have the warning about blocking pop ups and you should have the option open to allow pop ups. It will then open for you. Just a suggestion, it did the same to me and that is how I can allow some pages to open.

Also, good job to us and a pat on the back for making this a success!

The article also says the Transformers number included rental copies sold. The number sold for Pirates is direct sales only.

Quote:
Paramount Home Entertainment reported that Transformers sold a little more than 8 million units in its first street week, but this figure included sales into the rental channel. The Pirates estimate only spans direct-to-consumer sell-through, add sources.

I believe they are true last Tuesday I had real trouble finding a copy on the blu ray format. Some of the store got some more in later in the week. But as for Tuesday had a hard time.

I never trusted numbers, ever since 7 8 9.

But, if they were true, that's incredible news.
