Default Anyone see the NBC news article on HDDVD and BD

It was a couple of nights ago, but all the information was either wrong or outdated for Blu-ray. It basically said that you had to spend $1000 for a BD player, and HDDVD players were all around $499 and that MOST movies were either on one format or the other so you would not be able to watch them if you had the other player. Guess that is typical of news in general.

NBC = Universal.

They had it on the Today show a while back as well, spreading BS against Blu-Ray.

Hmm, maybe Fox should put it in a episode of The Simpsons, where bart gets a PS3 and then discovers blu-ray LOL.

They already did it for The O.C. Anime on Blu-ray. It wouldn't surprise me.

NBC is Universal that is right. So that would be the reason.

Interesting. While I was at Fry's last night I seen the Samsung blu-ray player go for 599. These people need to learn to research before they go into unknown territory..

Wait, wait, wait. You're saying journalists should research their facts?!

The kooky things people come up with.

Most people still don't know the facts. IGN still believes that HD-DVD has the Install base lead and still leads Blu-ray. They also believe that HD-DVD grossly out sells Blu-ray on Amazon.com. It seems like they must get most of their info from AVS.

It was funny when CES started they created a story title"Blu-ray is everywhere" or something like that. They seemed pretty bumed out with the whole HD-DVD not showing up thing.

Maybe FOX NEWS should do a Fair and Balanced report on the HD-DVD war lol

There is some inside information leaking out that the GE board members are getting so fed up with NBC's biased reporting that there may be some heads rolling, maybe all the way up to Robert Wright.

I believe this may be more than just an internet rumor.

You can bet GE has relationships with many of the BDA companies. A phone call to a higher up is all that it takes.

"We really don't care if you show format bias. We expect Universal to promote its choice. All we're asking is that your reporters don't outright lie about the facts."

Universal could shift a lot faster than anyone thinks (even me).

Given the current state of corporate media and the lazy crumb bum reporters they employ this doesn't really surprise me that much.

Don't forget that NBC is Microsoft with MSNBC.

We can see if ABC/Disney will fire a brainwashing retort in the opposite direction. Its sad that our news is like that of the USSR during the cold war.

GE have a partnership with BSkyB, which is a UK company owned and run by James Murdoch, son of Rupert Murdoch who is owner of News Corporation which in turn owns 20th Century Fox. Everybody should know how influential Rupert Murdoch is.

MS only own 18% of MSNBC and are looking to get rid of it as they see it as old media.
