that could be. but somehow i do believe it is my infatuation with The Big Bang Theory, which is frightening because it's making everything else look very redundant, boring and uninteresting. it's just so much easier to watch a 22 minute episode of fun than a 120 minute serious film. weird

and to be completely honest, aside from LOST and like, 5 other items in my collection i was looking at it last night and said to myself, "i could very easily sell all of these right now and not even have a second thought about it" and i still kind of have that thought.

and i love my collection. what is going on in my head?

you know... i didn't buy this during BF season, and i have $44 in amazon credit just sitting there so i may just finally buy this (and finally see Tokyo Drift). i'll sleep on it to be sure, but eventually i'll bite

that makes sense. i of course think it's genius so i keep them in when i write it out. i remember before i saw the movie i was like, "what is this about? some guy and 500 days of summer? like, the season? that's weird" i had no idea that Zooey's character name was 'Summer' till they said it three minutes into the movie and then i was like, "oooohhhhh, that makes sense"

just for giggles sometimes i'll now go on metacritic or imdb and read the negative "hate it" reviews of my favorite movies and i was thinking, "who could possibly HATE (500) Days of Summer? honestly, who?" i mean, dislike it? maybe. hate it? no way, right?

wrong. tons and tons of 1/10 reviews of course reading about how "cliched", "corny", "pretentious", "unrealistic" and how "it tries to be quirky and unique but fails on every level imaginable" made me wonder what people think is a more realistic rom-com because this is as real as it gets.

the best line of one of the reviews i read is:
"it would be cool if there was an actual story to grasp onto, like PS I Love You. now that was an incredible movie."

this was made incredibly laugh worthy because P.S. I Love You is as generic and awful a rom-com you can get.
and hilary swank is hideous to look at

How could anyone actually hate it when Diesel even liked it? Errr, I mean Santa Diesel.

I've never seen P.S. I Love You, so I can't comment on it. I doubt I'd like it better than this though.

yeah, not gonna happen. i was semi interested in seeing the film, but by the 13 minute mark i was and shut it off. i used to never shut off films early. i used to finish everything i started, no matter how terrible, and while 12 Angry Men obviously isn't terrible, it was good enough to make me want to spend 90 minutes with it.

what pushed me over the limit was when

that made me go "ugh, oh crap. not gonna listen to this" and then turn it off. if i was in that room with him i would have already had a strong urge to beat him to death right then and there for wasting my time.

a film i was curious about because i heard it was very profound and had some great performances. however, i won't be able to judge that because i didn't make it that far. watched 13 minutes and knew this wasn't something i cared to watch any longer.

what is wrong with you? i'm almost embarassed for you, in regards to your recent attitude towards film in general. maybe this isn't the thread for you--your negativity is bringing it down, to be honest.

to be honest i was thinking of maybe taking a break from films and recharging my batteries. films and music have always been my two main hobbies, but lately spending time with both (new films, new music) has felt more like work than fun, which is obviously a negative.

however, with that said, whatever my feelings on a film (negative or positive) i don't see how that's adding a negative atmosphere to the thread when i'm just being honest.

It does when it comes across as an attempt to get attention. Everyone needs to recharge their batteries every once in awhile. Maybe it's your time.
