There are two things that are certain (if there is such a thing in this war):
Dual formats in HD will prevent the mass adoption needed for the HD format to become profitable, thus leading to its eventual demise. Fox and Disney will never adopt HD DVD, as the piracy issue and region coding is far too important to them. They would simply stop producing HD content if there wasn't a secure medium to provide it in. That's about as simple as it gets, and if you read between the lines, I'm basically saying that without Warner choosing Blu-ray and forcing the hand of Universal to go at least neutral, this war will eventually result in both sides losing. |
