When you select which version you want to watch, there is Unrated (UK), Rated (US), and a third option. This third option is the PIP.

Oh, I see that does have a 'PiP' look to that version of the movie. But it really isn't what I thought they were talking about when they said that BD-J would enable them to add PiP features. I thought it would be more like on the TV where you can push a button and turn on the PiP and then push again to turn it off. Not that there would be a whole seperate version of the movie with a comentary window that is up all the time.

Maybe, when they get the software more refined, they can do a real PiP feature.

There isnt a seperate version of the movie on the disc. That is FUD spread by the wonderful retards at AVS. What it does do however, is it has the scenes which need PIP encoded on the disc, and then plays them back Via Seemless Branching, like DVD does. HD DVD at this time cannot do seemless branching. So it has the main film on the disc, and it also has some scenes with the PIP encoded into it, and it also has the extended scenes encoded onto it as well, and just branches to the scenes needed for whatever playback choice you select. Its genious, actually.

I downloaded the update, unpacked the .exe which created the ISO and burned the ISO to DVD-r using Nero.

This process was very smooth. Installing the update was also smooth. However, the Blu-ray player had some initial problems after the update.

First, the player booted very slowly. Then it took a long time to load a Blu-ray movie. So I decide to power cycle the player. It booted faster during the second boot however it still took a long time to load a disk and there was a circular icon the kept spinning (bottom center of the screen). Finally I power cycled the player again and it starting working normal (well it operated the same as it did before I applied the update ).

Perhaps I'll wait a week before applying the next update after it comes out

Would this update help with the playback of Crank? Just got the player and the movie yesterday and it freezes up a ton of times. Thanks in advance. Also I have a mac so it seems almost impossible to get this update.

Markess, you have a PM

Edit:
Sorry, I just read the last part of your post AFTER the PM was sent.

Do you have a neighbor or co-worker with a PC based system?
