Im not into Dance Films at all. Its probably because of Jealousy, When B2K came out years back all the females were trippin so i've been hatin since lol. But i did enjoy the 2nd Twilight film. Haven't seen 3 yet. Out of that whole line up i think i love DRUMLINE the most. I can relate!

Meant to write "no wrong". I'm pretty bad about proof reading.

If you have seen the original True Grit I think you'll find aspects about both films to like. It's hard to come out of the theater and say "Well I find 'x' version better because of 'x' reason". To me, you can't do a remake any better.

Czar, disturbed and you all said that you don't hide what films you enjoy and never will, and i asked "who doesn't do this?" like, who does hide what films they like? i haven't met anyone on here who does that, so it's not like that way of thinking is new or anything.
*Slowly raises hand.*

I might hide certain ones from my parents or other guests I wouldn't want to offend. My mom outright hates "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" and would probably have a fit if she found out I own a copy. She'd probably disown me if she knows and sees "I Spit On Your Grave," "The Human Centipede," five of the "Saw" movies, and "Salo" in my collection, among others. I'm sure other folks would probably think I'm mad owning so many Uwe Boll movies.

At the very least, I'd downplay them.

Honestly never understood why Twilight is so hated, I get that they're not the best movies but wow. Also, just for girls? Ashley Greene, Nikki Reed, Kristen Stewart, Christian Serratos, Anna Kendrick, Elizabeth Reeser, etc. It may just be that I'm too far into vampire mythology to let stuff like glittering skin scare me off. Best vampire movie ever would be Bram Stoker's though.

well, in this example it makes sense.
when i lived at home, there was nothing more awkward than having my folks walk in during a film where there was sexual innuendo or a full on sex scene talking place so when i lived at home i wouldn't watch films that had scenes like that (even for 5 seconds) until they were in bed. not because i was embarrassed because i liked the movie, but because of my luck with those damn scenes!

i don't know how many times my mom would walk in my room during the "sex" scene in Fight Club. a 2.5 hour movie, one 15 second sex scene, and she walks in right as it starts what luck so i would kind of "hide" my viewings of those so i wouldn't have to keep having these awkward encounters lol

but on here, the internet of all places, i don't feel there needs to be any hiding of taste.

here's one that will make Czar flip. Halloween II (2009, Rob Zombie's version). i blind bought it in january, watched it and hated it (like 4/10 i gave it on my super old scale) but for some reason, i just keep going back and watching it. and now, after about 10 viewings, i really love the b@st@rd! it's not a perfect film and has plenty of flaws, i know, but i really enjoy the film and like it a lot. but i know it's pretty strongly hated on this site (and everywhere lol) but i won't hide my appreciation of it

Right on! I had the same dilemma a few years ago, fretting about stuff like "A Clockwork Orange" and all the anime I was getting into, with my folks just upstairs...

They can be cool about certain things (they like R-rated movies too after all). But my mom can get a little picky about it. She saw like 5 seconds of "28 Days Later" (the scene where the one guy gets shot), and stared at me like I was a psycho. Ugh.

But anyway, yep, on the Net, anything goes!

Ah I see. Uwe Boll might fit in that category, but otherwise I usually don't hide my tastes in actors, directors, etc. Heck, I'm not even that picky about them.

I loved the ending. What I find funny about No Country for Old Men is typically people knock a movie for not being faithful to the book. Then once this movie was released people hated the ending, when finally a movie was faithful to the book.

Man that is actually super funny. The samething happened to me. When i first watched part II man I was furiated but check this out. I havnt even watched it again but the movie just sat with me for a while and without seeing it again I started to like it. Strange aint it. I will add it to my collection at some point also. Zombie must have put a spell on that flick. Got Em!!

I definitely don't fit in those categories. I'll openly admit that I like crap. If I ever actually took the time to make my Top 15 like some people have, it would be interesting.

I'm not into dance films much either. I think the only one I actually really enjoyed out of the ones I remember seeing was Save the Last Dance. I would love to see that on Blu-ray, but I don't see it happening.

Moose is an unbelievable dancer and the opening sequence was very well done. The setting of the film was great as well. The acting was decent and the story was decent but nuthin to deep. The PQ was great and the AQ is reference material!

After now seeing each film I do have to say I still prefer the first two over this film but I very much liked this film as well and I cant wait until part 4 is released. Definite recommendation for dance film fans and open minded movie films in general. The dance sequences and battles alone are worth the price of admission. Got Em!!

Film Rating - 4 stars (out of 5)

PQ - 4 1/2 stars (out of 5)

AQ - 5 stars (out of 5)
i always enjoy your generous reviews for awful movies..

ha yeah unfortnatly i did, wasn't my choice though.. haha im telling you Ticks will be your new favorite horror movie.. youll be like frozen what! i see all movies.. Black Swan was mostly dancing and i loved it.. save the last dance was ight Step up 1 okay, but 4 stars! thats crazy.. 2.5 stars would be generous, that makes it average.. its definitely not an average movie... you also gave The Last Airbender 4 stars... and that has to be the worst movie to come out since The Stupids with Tom Arnold

First Blood

Color me disappointed.

I was expecting a hell of an action movie and that's not what I got

Rambo the character was very cool;
[Show spoiler]dropping those deputies like flies, but letting them live because he felt like it.
His
[Show spoiler]breakdown at the end
was good, but he's just not enough to make up for the rest of the movie.

Let's see, what else was very good besides that...oh, right, nothing.

His adversaries were lame, boring and annoying. There's not a single noteworthy character here besides Rambo.

I didn't really care for the story, which isn't much of one to begin with really.

He
[Show spoiler]gets arrested because the Sheriff doesn't like "drifters"?
Seriously?

I just thought the entire plot of the film was pretty
I didn't enjoy it.

They had two or three flashes of him remembering his time in 'Nam, I think that would have been a much more interesting way to go with the story, having those flashes continue on in the film instead of just Super Guy vs Small Town Cops.

Like I said, Stallone's character was the only thing that was good in this movie as far as I'm concerned.

Rating - 1.5/5

See u are missing sumthin major......................................we all have our own taste. Ebert said The Lovely Bones was a bad film and he is about the only one that thinks so. Also it depends on what kind of films u like and what u are into. I am a big fan of dance films as it is my background also. The dance scenes and choreography deserve 4 stars on its own. U cant deny the awesomeness of those routines dog. Im sure there are some films u like that I would rate 2 stars. Just how it is. Most likely Ticks will fall into that category hahahhaah. Got Em!!

I never watched the sequel. Like I do with most series, if the sequels don't include any of the stars from the original, I don't even bother.

I had forgotten that this was a Paramount movie. I already said that this had little chance of ever coming out on Blu-ray, but knowing that fact now I can comfortably say that I would literally fall out of my chair if it ever got announced. I may just have to break my streak eventually of not buying a single movie on DVD since I started buying Blu-rays since for some reason I never bought this movie.
