well this sucks. Why would blu-ray only link to the orignal version? I want to be sure that I am purchasing the remastered. Ugh

I believe Amazon replaced all their copies with the remastered version, but I would contact customer service just to make sure.

Paramount US and Canada did not change the front or back artwork.

The only change was a yellow UPC for new stock. Some Canadian releases are still the original pressing despite the yellow UPC.

How to tell if you have the remastered release:

White UPC - The words "2-Disc Set" are missing above the Paramount logo on the actual artwork.

Yellow UPC - The UPC is yellow, any shade of yellow.

Universal Netherlands also did not chnage the front or back artwork.

The only change was a sticker on the back stating it was remastered.

Both Paramount and Universal did not change the UPC/ISBN numbers so even Amazon's own representatives do not know what stock they have. Further, the call center is nowhere near the distribution center so a call would be fruitless.

Axel Music does list Gladiator as the remastered version if you want to be absolutely sure of getting one when ordering online.

I'm not gonna re-buy this unless I'm sure Amazon's only ship the new release.
I just went into my local BB and picked up one that had the yellow label on the back just to be sure. They had two yellow labeled ones, and four original defective PQ ones mixed together. I felt kinda sorry for the people not knowing this issue and either just buying the originals for themselves, or as gifts for somebody else.

FYI:

Copies witha white UPC could also be the remastered version if the words "2-Disc Set" are missing above the Paramount logo on the actual art.

Yea, I remember reading about that, plus the remasters do not have the usual security sticker on the top of the case too, from what I have heard.

so:

1. a yellow sticker
or
2. no '2disc' text

Default Got the remastered version from Amazon

Just wanted to report that I ordered Gladiator from Amazon on 12/28 and recieved the remastered version today in the mail.

No yellow sticker and it has the $10 off expired coupon on the front.

It DOES NOT have the wods 2disc set on the blu ray case. So I opened it up to verify 100% it was the remastered version and on the actual blu ray disc the code ends in B1R2.

I just bought Gladiator. It has a yellow UPC, but it also has 2-Disc Set above the Paramount Logo on the back. I thought it wasn't suppossed to have 2-Disc set above the logo if it has the Yellow UPC?

P.S. It seems to be the remastered version I am just curious about this.

Seriously, this information needs to be a sticky:

Yellow UPCs will have the words "2-Disc Set" whereas White UPCs will not.

Yellow UPCs in the US are all the remastered pressing, any shade of yellow and all of the yellow UPCs.

White UPCs in the US that missing the words "2-Disc Set" above the Paramount logo are all the remastered pressing, this is on the actual art and not the slipcover.

Is the exchange program still going on? Just went to the shelf, and I have the white UPC and the 2 disc Blu Ray. Knew that it was just off when I first watched it.
