Yes, it's brilliant. As a person who 'grow up' reading Harry Potter i've always left the cinema feeling slightly disappointed (now I view the books/films as different for various cinematic reasons) but David Yates did a fantastic job with DH and the 'dragging' parts which got negative feedback (largely from the press!) was due to the trio being on the run for the best part of 6 months in the book, so of course it would have to 'drag' a little but I thought it was very well done with character development in abundance, something we've hardly seen in the previous 6. The Locket sequence and The Tale of the Three Brothers are the best scenes i've ever seen in a Potter movie.

Anyway, the SE DVD version are VERY tempting, they look great. I really, really hope they bring the same to the Blu version

Can't wait for Part 2!

I personally want a double box set edition of part 1 and 2 on BR together !!

or be great to see it knitted together as one loooong film.

I dont see this happening though - I think the attention of any boxset will be on a super duper box of all 8.

have 1-5 on dvd and 6 on BR. do not intend to rebuy the others on BR, even though I have to admit HBP looks fantastic on BR.

I don't think I'm going to double dip, getting 1-6 at £17.99 (bargain!) the complete collection will be quite expensive I think

DH Part One, is by far, the best one yet. Even if you're not a Harry Potter fan (like myself) you would enjoy it. Although I have to stress it would help if you knew the backstories beforehand. The so called 'dragging' parts were brilliant, and offered great insight into the characters. The only gripe I had, as well as with the whole movie series, is the relationship between Harry and Hermione. In DH Part One this gripe reached a whole new level since the two of them share a dance when Ron has abandoned them and at the end of the scene there is a moment where you would think they would become intimate. The scene was not in the book and I've always hated the fact that Ron Weasley has been pushed to the background, I think the character is the most relatable, not to mention Rupert Grint is the best actor of the whole trio.

But we decided that while we loved it that what we came up with was the right ending for the film that we had made.

But he shot while shooting HBP, but said it would be better placed at the start of DH part 1. There were production photos.

I don't recall seeing any production photos of Dumbledore's funeral and was under the impression it was cut out during the scripting process. I don't miss it. The scene with the students and staff raising their wands is more poignant than what was basically a big publicity stunt in the book (with even Dolores Umbridge and Rita Skeeter present).

Anyway, I'm really excited over the DH deleted scenes. It seems they're including most of what's known to cut out. They're only missing the following:

* Viktor Krum at the Weasley wedding
* Harry in Sirius' room finding Lily's letter
* Ron questioning Harry's leadership while they're trekking through the fields
* Hermione poking around Bathilda's house some more
* Ron putting up more of a fight with the Snatchers
* Extended Hermione torture

All of those are probably only a few seconds long each, so they're not a big loss (though I'd really like to see the first two). I'm just glad they're giving us all of the fully excised scenes. Hopefully the Ultimate Edition will insert those back in (and the minor extended bits listed above while they're at it).

Same here. There is a very nice piece of concept art out there, but Entertainment Weekly did cause some confusion by misconstruing a remark Daniel Radcliffe made about filming the scene at the base of the tower with Dumbledore's body, and suggesting he was talking about the funeral.

Mmm... might go midnight, 2 cinemas to choose from though, both 1-2 mins walk away. Either Cineworld or Harbour Lights Picturehouse. Benefits of living in Ocean Village.

This second half of the 7th film is actually under two hours long, not considering the ending credits. Screening was at 12:15, 20 minutes of ads, it started at around 12:35 and finished at 2:30, then ending credits begun. I was actually expecting it to be longer. Good but not great.

Hey Guys , sorry for bumping in this old thread , was watching Deathly Hallows Part 2 Today , and when the movie got over i noticed INDIAN CENSOR CERTIFICATE , my disk is the part of Harry Potter: The Complete 8-Film Collection i purchased from Amazon UK, and not the Triple Play Version , so is this the same version sold by Big Home Video in India and is this different or inferior to (In terms of PQ/AQ) the Triple Play Version sold in UK? Also The Special Features Disk of Deathly Hallows Part - 1 is missing Behind the Soundtrack & The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Grand Opening Featurettes.

I've noticed that Indian certificate on a few Warner discs from the UK. It's on my UK disc from the 3D set so its the same as the triple play edition. I'll have a look at features when I get home to see if they are missing unless someone else posts first.
