Just got my Steelbook in today, was shipped on Monday so that's not too bad. No seal though of course but seemed in good condition. No dents or scratches, so went straight in a DVD/Blu wrap.

Mmm... might go midnight, 2 cinemas to choose from though, both 1-2 mins walk away. Either Cineworld or Harbour Lights Picturehouse. Benefits of living in Ocean Village.

. Funny thing is, I don't go as often as I could. I mean, I go for things I really wanna see, so after part II, I dunno what else is worth seeing IMO. Wish I could've been at the premiere, but this is good enough.

I too am going at a midnight showing and its fully booked, so it should have a great atmosphere

The critics have loved the film it has a rating of 90 as it stands on Metacritic, which is great for a Potter film.

Now I fear that midnight showings over here are fully booked too. Oh well, will try booking tomorrow, if not, just watch it some other time.

Highest MC rating for a wide release this year.

Also, the Broadcast Film Critics gave it a score of 95, now I can't go looking through their 2011 historical ranks, but acclaimed films like Bridesmaids, Tree of Life, Midnight in Paris, Rango, Source Code among others are all lower than Deathly Hallows 2.

It also has a 96% on RT if I'm not mistaken with 100% on Top Critics and an 8.5 average for all critics.

Personally, though I liked it, I do hope that WB releases a disc with both films on it. It doesn't have a start, obviously, and therefore never feels like a real movie but part of another, which it of course is.

Maybe not on a single disc (as combined both films definitely exceed any LOTR EE) but in a set.

is anyone else in the same position where they own the 1-7 part 1 boxset so will have to buy Deathly Hallows part 2 as a standalone release! I like my boxset, but when i got it quite cheap i did wonder how it will look with the last film sat next to it and not in the set

Just booked the ticket to see part 2 at Cineworld, midnight. Definitely surprised that it was not sold out, instead of Harbour Lights Picturehouse. Odeon may be sold out as well, but I'm just glad to see it at midnight.

Just want to remind users that if/when they see the film not to openly post any spoilers, that is what the
spoiler tab
is for.

[Show spoiler]Don't be a douche.

Absolutely loved the film, think my favourite of the entire Harry Potter series. Too bad I was dying for the toilet half-way through and I was sitting there desperately holding it in so I didn't leave to go. Thankfully I held it in until the end, but it was hard to focus sometimes.
[Show spoiler]Absolutely hated Snape's death, it was amazing but it was so violent and horrible.

Agreed. By far my favourite of the series and that last bit you mentioned there I agree with too.

I saw Philosopher's Stone in cinemas when I was 7.

I went to the cinema today to finish off the series with Deathly Hallows Part 2, age 17.

Absolutely phenomenal.

Midnight screening was good. Nice atmosphere. A rather nice ending to a great franchise. I will, however, say IMO it was not perfect, but very very good nonetheless.

I thought it was a good adaptation, but I never really enjoyed the 7th book as much as the others. I missed Hogwarts too much (although a large amount of this film feels like it takes place there to what I remembered in the book).

Now to wait for the Ultimate collection. I'm sure the price is going to hurt. I hope there's some kind of set that includes all on disc material such as those big documentaries from the US Ultimate Editions but forgoes things like books and trinkets as I really don't need those.
