I love the show I watch it once a year from beginning to end. Unlike most shows all the characters evolve season to season.

It never interested me, especially since I was young while it was on.

But lately I've been getting or trying to get into shows outside of my main interests, and this is one of those.

I know what you mean. I didn't get into the show til 2 years after it went off the air. I fell in love with it instantly.

We would get along great. I also like you watch this show yearly. I think between DVD and TV I have seen the whole show about 6 times and Angel about 4 times. I have the first release box sets for both and I have used them well lol. IMO it's the best show to have been made and it has infinite rewatchability.

since graphic arts are a hobby of mine (I love to draw) and i like comics yes, i picked up the blu ray of this and i liked it. i hope they make more of these not only for buffy, but for other comics. the only thing is they need to bring the price down just a bit that will make it a little easier for folks to get into it.

like is said, as an artist and a comic book lover, it's great; it's something different. it also helped that i loved the series too. now, once they remaster and release the live action series on blu, that's a day one on the collection especially the season with Glory!

Nice. Buffy is one of the things that my wife and I connected on when we met.

I also love to watch any show done by an actor that has done anything by Joss Whedon.

How I Met Your Mother, Angel, Bones, Chuck, Terminator:SCC, Castle, Dollhouse. Still need to check out the new version of V.

We have the same tastes in shows I guess. I have and love all those seasons on DVD and Blu. The only one I don't like is V but I did give it a shot.

Of those listed the only one I do like is Castle. I've only watched one episode of Dollhouse (which I liked) and one episode of Chuck (which was ok, but didn't make me want to watch another episode)

HIMYM isn't really funny to me, but I'm extremely picky with the comedies I watch anyway.

Buffy (and Angel, to a lesser extent) is one of my all-time favorite TV shows. Only Firefly ranks higher.

Didn't get into Terminator or Dollhouse, but I love the rest of those shows.

Take your time on that one. We have similar taste it seems... and I found the new V to be not worth watching.

skipping this one, which is a real shame. I was so excited. The terrible voice actors and the review here helped greatly in making this decision. Seriously -- they snipped out stuff from the comics!? WTF? I held off reading the comics these last few months in anticipation of this... now I'll go ahead and start them... what a shame. FOX dropped the ball on this and I anticipate it selling poorly and we'll likely never get a BD release of anything else Buffy related for a long time...

i finished watching all of the issues over the weekend, i loved it. i never got to see or read the comics themselves so this was a real treat for me. it reminds me of the old marvel animated cartoons that were on tv when i was a child, they were done the same way back in the late 60's early 70's.
i'm not sure what some were expecting, based on some of the post here and of course i respect that. i got exactly what i was hoping for, to be entertained, to see the comic in the style that it was drawn in the book with some nice effects of visuals and sound. i do hope they make more of these styles of art. cause that's what it is, an art form, not an animated movie per-se, but something in between and nicely done. i hope more folks give it a chance and at least rent it. i am proud to own it.

You are so not alone

It's almost time for my yearly trek through - I just wish I wasn't so short for time lately. I will definitely not miss it, though.

You might want to give Dollhouse another try. The first couple of episodes (particularly the pilot) were rather shaky (mostly due to changes made to appease Fox) but it got very good, and I'd daresay Season 2 was excellent. The last five episodes contain about five seasons worth of material, so it plays more like a feature film. Basically, since they knew the show was ending, they went ahead and told (a good chunk of) the story they had planned out on the 5-year map. So, unlike a lot of early cancellations, at least the plot gets resolved.

Plus, Eliza kicks some major booty.

I very much agree with this. I don't know how patient I would have been with the show if it had stayed where it was in the first few episodes, but by the time it gets going in its arc (which is less time than Buffy took to get on it feet) it is excellent.
I am whedon guy, but even my wife cites touts Dollhouse for one her favorite hours of TV ever (more or less a standalone about Priya in season 2) and one of her favorite TV actors (guy that played Victor).

But as far as Buffy S8, there are things I find myself wishing about it (released as the complete S8 at once, better voice casting) but it's been cool to share the storyline with the various people I got into Buffy that aren't willing to read comics to get more story.
Shame IDW will probably not have the budget to do Angel: After The Fall. Obviously Angel stuff tends to not sell as well, but I think AtF was well enough encapsulated that they wouldn't have to cut stuff out, and in its own way it felt more like a direct continuation of the show then Buffy S8 did because of the time gap/ change of setting.

Just have to chime in that the most of Dollhouse season 2 makes that whole show worth it, they were really on their game at the end there.

I look forward to the day they rerelease- especially if they really spend time doing it. There must be deleted scenes, alternate versions of the scripts, commercials (like the phone card ads that were out when season... 3? was on) and the Buffy Lives ad campaign when in moved stations, mad tv appearances and spoofs (also fox)... Adding the Buffy movie with a motion comic (with Giselle Loren from the video games doing buffy's voice) of the movie storyline as it was written in the comic (worked more directly as a prequel to the show). Plus the unaired pilot.

Not just a few quickly made round tables etc.

I'd love a more collectible type packaging personally- (though I know a lot of people dislike this) Like a tombstone packaging with "Buffy t VS, Years 1-7. She saved the world. A lot." on it. Or a faux prop replica (Vampyre book from episode one seems a natural choice). Or the stone in which the Slayer's Scythe was stuck in. Or something.

I know this isn't dreadfully likely (even with the current vampire fad- I know I'd be capitalizing on it if I were them).

There has to be about the same amount of stuff for Angel. They could do a really cool matching set of the two...

I expect this all to happen just as soon as Serenity 2 goes into production.
